An ammonia-burning combustion engine. In particular, the present invention relates to an internal combustion engine for the combustion of ammonia, the engine comprising one or more combustions chambers comprising an ammonia combustion catalyst. The invention further relates to a method for operating an internal combustion engine by the combustion of ammonia, the method comprising contacting ammonia with a heated ammonia combustion catalyst in a combustion chamber of the engine to combust the ammonia.

Ammonia-burning combustion engine

The present invention relates to a method of preparing a catalyst article comprising steps: (a) preparing a washcoat composition by combining at least the following components: a support material comprising a mixed oxide, a mixture of oxides or a molecular sieve comprising (i) alumina and (ii) silica and/or zirconia; a metal oxide sol comprising at least one of titania, silica or zirconia; a liquid medium; (b) applying the washcoat composition to a substrate to form a washcoating; and (c) drying and/or calcining the washcoating; wherein the method further comprises a step of impregnating the support material with a platinum group metal component. The prepared catalyst article may be suitable for the treatment of emissions from an internal combustion engine or a gas turbine, for example, the treatment of carbon monoxide and/or formaldehyde emissions from a natural gas fueled internal combustion engine or gas turbine.

Method and composition

The present invention relates to a method for the treatment of an exhaust gas comprising carbon monoxide (CO) and/or one or more volatile organic compounds (VOCs) using a PGM-free catalyst article comprising a mixed oxide of Mn, Cu, Mg, Al and La. The present invention also relates to an HVAC system comprising a PGM-free catalyst article.

Method for the treatment of an exhaust gas and an HVAC system

The present invention relates to a system for ammonia combustion and exhaust gas treatment, the system comprising: an internal combustion engine for combusting ammonia; and an exhaust system comprising an intake for receiving an exhaust gas from the combustion engine, an upstream injector for adding hydrogen gas to the exhaust gas and a downstream catalyst article, wherein the downstream catalyst article comprises a three-way catalyst (TWC) composition. Multi-function catalyst article for treating both CO and NOx in stationary emission source exhaust gas

An ammonia slip catalyst having an SCR catalyst and an oxidation catalyst comprising at least two metals, each of which is selected from a specific group, and a substrate upon which at least oxidation catalyst is located is described. The ammonia slip catalyst can have dual layers, with one of the layers containing an SCR catalyst, a second layer containing the oxidation catalyst with comprises at least two metals, each of which is selected from a specific group, and the ammonia slip catalyst does not contain a platinum group metal. Methods of making and using the ammonia slip catalyst to reduce ammonia slip are described.

A catalytic article for treating an exhaust gas stream containing one or more of NOx, hydrocarbons, CO, SOx and ammonia from a combustion turbine comprises (a) a substrate having an inlet end and an outlet end defining an axial length; (b) an oxidation layer comprising an oxidation catalyst comprising one or more noble metals, the oxidation layer being positioned on the substrate and covering the axial length of the substrate; and (c) an SCR layer comprising an SCR catalyst, the SCR layer being positioned on the oxidation layer and overlapping a portion of the oxidation layer, wherein the portion is less than 100%.

Zoned ammonia slip catalyst for use in combustion turbines

Provided is a catalyst article for treating an emission gas comprising (a) a noble metal catalyst layer comprising one or more noble metals disposed on a first refractory metal oxide support; and (b) a vanadium catalyst layer comprising vanadium pre-fixed on a second refractory metal oxide support selected from alumina, titania, zirconia, ceria, silica, and mixtures of these, wherein the first catalyst layer is in physical contact with said second catalyst layer. Also provided is a method for making such a catalyst article, a method for treating gas emissions using such an article, and an emission gas treatment system incorporating such an article.
