A round or rectangular clip assembly that utilizes torsion tension spring loops, formed from the flexible material. The clip forms a tongue segment on one side of the torsion tension spring loops, and multiple extension members on the second side. The spring loop is configured to pushes the tongue segment toward the substantially parallel surface formed on each extension member, and can hold a light bulb or a light socket inbetween. The clip also includes additional torsion three-quarter rounded tension spring loop, which can be rounded for holding a wire or an extension cord, or rectangular, for attaching to a rectangular fixture.

A mounting system and method for tautly mounting a flexible material sign includes a plurality of mounting springs affixed to an associated sign structure. Each of the plurality of mounting springs includes a base portion, a grasping portion and a spring portion. The base portion is adapted to be secured to an associated sign structure, such as a structure to which the flexible material sign is to be mounted, a frame or similar structure surrounding the flexible material sign, etc. The grasping portion includes a finger adapted to be received within an aperture of the flexible material sign. The spring portion is disposed between the base portion and the grasping portion for applying a tension to the flexible material sign.

An arc tube assembly () for a protected high intensity discharge lamp. The assembly has a ceramic arc tube () with a short shroud () surrounding at least the arc chamber () of the arc tube. The short shroud () allows the frit seal areas () of the arc tube capillaries () to project beyond the shroud () and thereby operate at a lower temperature, thus increasing lamp life.

An HID lamp utilizes a wire frame member having an integral coil with spaces between windings to relieve thermal stress and provide shock absorption in a ceramic metal halide discharge lamp mounted concentrically in an elliptical-dimple (ED-type) glass envelope. The wire frame member has a first end welded to a current carrying support member embedded in the stem and a second end welded to an upper axial lead of the arc tube, the coil being situated about the dimple. The lower axial lead fixed relative to a second current carrying support member embedded in the stem, so that the coil compresses when the arc tube expands relative to the wire frame member.

Metal halide lamp includes an arc tube and a surrounding tubular quartz sleeve between a pair of parallel wire frame members mounted to a glass stem containing current supply leads. The sleeve is provided with two pairs of diametrically opposed apertures, each pair of apertures receiving an elongate wire U-clip which engages a pinched end of the arc tube inside the sleeve and the frame members outside the sleeve. Distal ends of each U-clip are welded to a frame member to fix the position of the arc tube and the sleeve.

A protective sleeve of quartz surrounding a metal halide arc tube is fixed to upright portions of a frame by means of retaining rings. The frame has lower ends formed with coils fitted over the glass stem in an interference fit, thereby insulating the frame from the electrical leads sealed in the stem. An intermediate portion of the frame fits closely in the opposite end of the lamp to stabilize the burner assembly and shield.

Discharge lamp utilizes a current carrying frame member which supports an arc tube and positions it centrally in a glass envelope having a closed end with an inside surface. The frame member has a first end fixed to a lead in the stem and a second end formed with first and second cantilevers connected by a 180 degree bend to resiliently position the frame member in the closed end of the envelope. A metal halide discharge lamp having an elliptical glass envelope and a cylindrical end utilizes a frame wherein the cantilevers are displaced apart to load a hooked end formed on the second cantilever against the inside surface.

A mounting assembly for a reflector lamp. The mounting assembly comprises a 0.050' diameter stainless steel rod that has been formed into a three-turn spiral. The spiral surrounds the inner jacket mount assembly of the reflector lamp, and fits into the neck region of the reflector. The lower leg of the spiral either takes the place of, or augments a 'dummy' lead presently used in the inner jacket press, so that one or both fit into the reflector eyelet opening in the neck of the reflector. The opposite end of the spiral piece extends upwardly, and is connected to the upper lead of the Model No. PAR30L inner jacket mount assembly of the Model No. MPD70 lamp.
