Pulse valve

A valve assembly having a plurality of fill valves that permit a fluid to flow from a fluid inlet into an interior flow path to increase a pressure of the fluid output from a fluid outlet, and a plurality of dump valves that permit the fluid to flow from the interior flow path to an exhaust to reduce the pressure of the fluid output from the fluid outlet. The valve assembly includes a controller that is configured for receipt of a command signal including a desired pressure of the fluid to be output from the fluid outlet, and is configured for receipt of a signal from a pressure sensor that is indicative of an actual pressure of the fluid output from the fluid outlet, wherein based on a comparison of the command signal with the signal indicative of the actual pressure, the controller is configured to selectively open and close each of the fill valves and each of the dump valves until the actual pressure is equal to the desired pressure.

Digital proportional pressure controller

A flow control valve including a valve body, stepper motor, and valve member. The valve member includes a poppet that can slide longitudinally within a bore of the valve body when the stepper motor receives electricity. A diaphragm, extending inwardly from the valve body to the valve member, deflects in response to movement of the valve member. A flow control needle, mounted to the poppet of the valve member, is at least partially received in an outlet port of the valve body. The flow control needle cooperates with an inner surface of the outlet port to define an outlet flow orifice that varies in size when the valve member moves between open and closed positions. In the closed position, a seat engagement surface of the valve member contacts a valve seat of the valve body to create a fluid-tight seal.

A control valve having a valve body, seat member, valve member, and solenoid including a housing, bobbin, and coil. The valve member has a head portion disposed within the bobbin and a valve portion, disposed within the valve body, that has a seat engagement member operating to open and close ports in the valve body when the valve member slides between first and second positions. A permanent magnet, disposed within the bobbin, applies an attractive force of variable magnitude to the valve member in a direction opposing a biasing force created by a biasing component. Pulses of electric current applied to the coil change the variable magnitude. The permanent magnet pulls the valve member to the second position when the attractive force is greater than the biasing force and the valve member returns to the first position when the attractive force is less than the biasing force.

Latching pneumatic control valve

A proportional pressure controller includes a body having inlet, outlet, and exhaust ports. A fill valve communicates with pressurized fluid in the inlet port. A dump valve communicates with pressurized fluid from the fill valve. An inlet poppet valve opens by pressurized fluid through the fill valve. An exhaust poppet valve when closed isolates pressurized fluid from the exhaust port. An outlet flow passage communicates with pressurized fluid when the inlet poppet valve is open, and communicates with the outlet port and an exhaust/outlet common passage. An isolation valve assembly selectively isolates fluid flow to and from the inlet port or the exhaust port to achieve a zero pressure condition.

A solenoid operated modular valve includes a solenoid body having a coil and a pole piece positioned in the solenoid body. A valve body cartridge is connected to the solenoid body. A polymeric snap-in seat assembly includes first and second deflectable claw arms each having a barb engaging the valve body cartridge retaining the snap-in seat assembly in direct contact with the valve body cartridge. A seat engagement face when contacted by a valve seal member defines a valve closed position, and is displaced away from the seat engagement face in a valve open position when the coil is energized. A valve body cartridge body end portion includes a barb engagement face having pitched contact edges each having a continuous pitch directly contacted by the barb of the first and second deflectable claw arms to rotatably and frictionally lock the snap-in seat assembly to the valve body cartridge.

A pressure balanced solenoid operated valve includes a solenoid portion having a coil in a coil retainer. A valve member portion defines a body connected to the solenoid portion. A slidable valve member in the body has opposed first and second ends and a shoulder between the ends. The first end with the coil energized is magnetically drawn toward the coil retainer moving the valve member between a valve closed and a valve open position. A pressure equalizing passage extends in the valve member from the second end. An inlet passage communicates a pressurized fluid at a valve inlet port to the pressure equalizing passage. A connecting passage communicates between the pressure equalizing passage and the shoulder. The pressurized fluid in the pressure equalizing passage acts against the second end and equally and oppositely against both the shoulder and the first end in both the open and closed positions.

Pressure balanced solenoid operated valve

A flow control valve includes a body having a body bore oriented coaxially with a longitudinal axis of the body and a seat member extending into the bore. A valve member is slidably disposed in the bore and oriented coaxially with the longitudinal axis of the body. The valve member includes a non-circular geometrically shaped head having a bore. A drive adapter includes a head receiving cavity slidingly receiving the geometrically shaped head of the valve member and preventing axial rotation of the valve member. A stepper motor is connected to the drive adapter, the stepper motor incrementally rotating a shaft engaged with the bore of the valve member. First and second equal diameter pistons of the valve member provide pressure balanced valve member operating positions.

A piston rod and cylinder seal device includes a cylinder defining a piston chamber extending between first and second cylinder heads. The second cylinder head has a spud receiving bore, a pressure passage communicating with the spud receiving bore, and a bore supply/vent passage. A first piston is disposed in the piston chamber. A piston rod is connected to the piston, the piston rod having a piston rod spud extending beyond the first piston and including a blind shaft receiving bore. A second piston slidably disposed in the blind shaft receiving bore has a seal member connected thereto. A contact member connected to the second cylinder head in the spud receiving bore has a central passage extending therethrough in communication with the bore supply/vent passage. The seal member when contacting the contact member acts to seal the central passage.

A proportional pressure controller includes a body having inlet, outlet, and exhaust ports. A fill valve communicates with pressurized fluid in the inlet port. A dump valve communicates with pressurized fluid from the fill valve. An inlet poppet valve opens by pressurized fluid through the fill valve. An exhaust poppet valve when closed isolates pressurized fluid from the exhaust port. An outlet flow passage communicates with pressurized fluid when the inlet poppet valve is open, and communicates with the outlet port and an exhaust/outlet common passage. A fill inlet communicates between the inlet passage and fill valve, and is isolated from the outlet flow passage, exhaust/outlet common passage, and outlet and exhaust ports in all operating conditions of the controller.

Proportional pressure controller

A valve assembly includes a solenoid can having an internal coil. A valve body connected to the solenoid can includes an inlet port and a first valve seat. An axially adjustable retainer threadably connected to the valve body includes an end portion defining a second valve seat. A homogenous valve member/armature slidably disposed in the valve body moves in the presence of a coil generated magnetic flux between valve closed and valve open positions. A valve member/armature first surface area is in fluid communication with a pressurized fluid through the inlet port. A valve member/armature second surface area is in fluid communication with the pressurized fluid in the valve closed position. The first surface area is equal to the second surface area and the pressurized fluid acts equally on the first and second surface areas defining a pressure balanced condition in the valve closed position.

Balanced solenoid valve

A solenoid actuated valve assembly includes a valve body having a slidable main valve member and a pilot valve body mechanically connected to the valve body including a slidable pilot valve member. A first solenoid operated valve connected to the pilot valve body when energized directs pressurized fluid to move the pilot valve member between pilot valve open and closed positions. A second solenoid operated valve connected to the valve body when simultaneously energized with the first valve directs the fluid to move the main valve member between valve closed and open positions. A third solenoid operated valve connected to the pilot valve body when energized and when both the first and second solenoid operated valves are de-energized directs the fluid to move the pilot valve to the pilot valve open position and the main valve member to the valve closed position.

A solenoid actuated pneumatic valve assembly including a valve body having a pressurized air supply inlet port in fluid communication with a source of pressurized air, an outlet port adapted to be in fluid communication with at least one active pneumatically operated device, and a pass-through port. The pass-through port is adapted to be in fluid communication with and provide a pass-through of the supply of pressurized air to the inlet port of at least one other valve assembly such that the valves are mounted in series with respect to the supply of pressurized air. A latching assembly is also provided that is supported upon the valve body and is adapted to engage and be operatively retained within an aperture in a mounting plate.

A pneumatic valve assembly including a valve body having an inlet port in fluid communication with a source of pressurized air and a valve bore extending axially within the valve body with a valve member movable between predetermined positions within the valve bore. The valve member selectively movable to direct a flow of pressurized air from the inlet port through the valve bore to an outlet port. A valve element is disposed upon the valve member having an angular valve sealing surface, and a valve seat is defined in the valve bore formed at an oblique angle to provide a sealing contact with the valve sealing surface when the valve member is in a closed position thereby interrupting said flow of pressurized air.
