A system for automatically locking a control laser in a Rydberg atomic sensor may comprise an atomic vapor cell, a probe laser configured to excite the atoms in the atomic vapor cell to an intermediate energy state, and a control laser configured to excite the one or more atoms in the atomic vapor cell from the intermediate energy state to a higher energy state. The light generated by the control laser may be dithered at a pre-determined frequency. The system further comprises a photodiode configured to convert light received from the vapor cell into an electrical signal, a lock-in amplifier configured to generate an error signal based on the electrical signal received from the photo diode and a received reference oscillation frequency, and a servo configured to receive the generated error signal from the lock-in amplifier and adjust a frequency of the control laser based on the received error signal.

A conical mirror concentrator is disclosed which is configured for use as a laser-cooled cooled atom source. According to embodiments, the conical mirror concentrator may comprise a body; a reflective inner conical surface formed on the body tapering from a large diameter at a first side of body inward to a smaller dimeter in an interior space of the body, wherein the inner conical surface focuses light to an axis within the interior space of the body; a hole extending from the interior space of the body near a pinnacle of the inner conical surface to a second, opposite side of body; and a structure configured to mount the concentrator to an ultra-high vacuum chamber, such as a CF (or Conflat) flange or an anodicly bonded glass plate.

An electric spinning pliers apparatus includes a housing, a plier head coupled to a rotatable shaft, and a head-operating handle. The housing may have a wire sleeve stripper, an iris door, one or more controls, and an indicator light. The electric spinning pliers apparatus utilizes the wire sleeve stripper to cut an outer sleeve of a group of wires, exposing individual wires. Each individual wire may be stripped by the iris door, while the plier head may grasp and rotate, via a motor, each of the individual wires into a single unit. The plier head may then twist a wire nut on the twisted wires.
