The present disclosure provides a remote mount for an idler gear assembly, comprising: a gear mounting plate including a plurality of bores configured to receive a corresponding plurality of fasteners to mount a gear assembly to the gear mounting plate; and an attachment bracket including a plurality of mounting openings configured to receive a corresponding plurality of bolts to mount the remote mount to a cylinder head. The gear mounting plate supports the gear assembly such that a gear of the gear assembly rotates about an axis that is parallel to an axis of a crankshaft of an engine and the attachment bracket mounts to an upper surface of the cylinder head.

The present disclosure provides a piston for an internal combustion engine, the piston having a piston body including a first bearing saddle defining a first axis and a second bearing saddle defining a second axis, the first axis being parallel to and spaced from the second axis. A bearing is also provided, the bearing having a first journal having a first body, longitudinal ends, and lateral edges, the first journal defining a first axis, the first journal disposed about approximately 180 degrees of the first axis and a second journal having a second body and defining a second axis, the second journal disposed about approximately 180 degrees of the second axis, the second journal operable to be positioned abutting one of the lateral edges of the first journal when the first and second journals are positioned with the piston.

Enhanced idler shaft interface for improving structural integrity of flywheel housing

Systems, apparatus, and methods are disclosed that include an internal combustion engine having a lubrication system with an upper storage reservoir for receiving lubrication fluid from the internal combustion engine. The upper storage reservoir maintains a supply of lubrication fluid to a lower storage reservoir even while the internal combustion engine is inclined due to operation along severe grades. The lower storage reservoir supplies fluid for circulation to the internal combustion engine.

An apparatus for an accessory drive configuration includes an internal combustion engine having a crankshaft which is structured to provide traction power. A torque-transmitting shaft extends through a portion of an internal combustion engine assembly, and the torque-transmitting shaft provides mechanical power to an accessory drive system. The internal combustion engine and an electric motor are operably coupled to the torque-transmitting shaft to selectively provide torque to the torque-transmitting shaft.

Accessory drive configuration

A mounting bracket may be used to attach a device or component at a mounting location. The mounting bracket may comprise a an attachment portion having at least one tab portion that further comprises generally parallel first and second surfaces extending along a curved path. The tab portion may be designed so that the slot may be received at the mounting location so that, when installed, the first and second surfaces contact the interior and exterior surfaces, respectively. The tab portion, in cooperation with the slot, may accurately position and securely retain the mounting bracket at the mounting location.
