A printhead assembly for an inkjet-printing device includes a printhead die and a flexible circuit connected to the printhead die. The printhead die includes a substrate, a first ground network electrically connected to the substrate, a device layer, and a second ground network electrically connected to the device layer. The first ground network and the second ground network are electrically isolated from one another within the printhead die. The first ground network and the second ground network are electrically connected to one another at the flexible circuit.

An inkjet print head includes data signal lines configured to supply inkjet control voltages and non-volatile memory cell random access addresses. The inkjet print head includes an inkjet nozzle array wherein each nozzle in the array is configured to communicate with a data signal line. Also a non-volatile attribute memory cell array is included in the inkjet print head wherein each memory cell in the array is accessed through a data signal line shared with the nozzle array.

Secure access to fluid cartridge memory

A fluid ejection device includes one or more digital data storage arrays having plural EPROM cells. A method for affirming performance adequacy of EPROM cells in the one or more arrays includes the steps of identifying a reference cell in each array, measuring a selected performance criterion for the reference cells, obtaining a reference criterion value, and evaluating the actual performance of at least one cell in each array with respect to the reference criterion value.

Fluid ejection device and method

A fluid ejection device includes a plurality of firing cells, a clocked latch switch, and a data latch switch. Each firing cell includes a heater used to fire ink through a nozzle, a drive switch, and a memory cell used to store a control value used to control the drive switch. The memory cell includes a data switch. A clocked latch switch receives a data-in signal and latches the data-in signal. All of the firing cells in the plurality of firing cells use the data-in signal latched by the clocked latch switch. The data latch switch latches the data-in signal to the data switch of at least two, but not all of the firing cells in the plurality of firing cells.

Fluid ejection device

A control circuit is provided for controlling ink jet pens having different numbers of internal select lines using external select lines that extend between the control circuit and the ink jet pens and that are shared by the ink jet pens. In one embodiment, the control circuit includes a register that store values, the values indicating whether a pulse is or is not to be sent as to each of the external select lines, a first control module configured to control select pulses sent on a first external select line after consultation of the register, and a second control module configured to control select pulses sent on a second external select line after consultation of the register.

Systems and methods for controlling ink jet pens

A fluid ejection device includes groups of firing cells, sharing a common fire signal and a common address selection mechanism, each firing cell having a drop generator for ejecting fluid and a dynamic memory addressable by the common address selection mechanism. Circuitry interfaces with the firing cells to allow the capture of data during two consecutive select cycles, then firing of all cells during a third cycle.

A fluid ejection device comprises a first metal layer and a second metallayer. The first metal layer comprises an address path portion and a nonaddress path portion. The second metal layer, which overlies the first metal layer, comprises a first portion which comprises a power conducting portion. The power conducting portion is routed only over the non-address path portion of the first metal layer.

A fluid ejection device having a first fluid feed source having a first fluid feed source edge in communication with a substrate surface, first firing resistors disposed along the first fluid feed source and configured to respond to a first current to heat fluid provided by the first fluid feed source, and a reference conductor. The reference conductor is configured to conduct the first current from the first firing resistors, wherein the reference conductor is disposed between the first fluid feed source edge and the first firing resistors.
