A downhole tool includes a base pipe having an opening formed radially-therethrough. The downhole tool also includes a valve positioned at least partially within the opening. The valve includes a dissolvable insert and an impediment. The dissolvable insert prevents the impediment from contacting a seat of the valve such that the valve permits fluid flow in both axial directions through the valve. After the dissolvable insert dissolves, the impediment contacts the seat such that the valve permits fluid flow in one axial direction through the valve but prevents fluid flow in the opposing axial direction through the valve.

Downhole tool for gravel packing a wellbore

A technique facilitates dispersion of injected fluid flow. A well string may be constructed with a screen assembly having a base pipe with a radial port, a filter medium, and a housing positioned along an exterior of the base pipe. The housing is constructed and positioned to form a chamber which receives high-pressure fluid exiting from an interior of the base pipe through the base pipe port. In some applications, a separate nozzle may be mounted in cooperation with the base pipe port. The screen assembly further comprises a dispersion member having features positioned in a flow path of the injected fluid to disperse the flow and thus to reduce the erosive effects.

System and method for dispersing fluid flow from high speed jet

A technique facilitates control over production flow from a well in a manner which increases the longevity of the well. A sand screen assembly or a plurality of sand screen assemblies may be constructed for use in a production operation. Each sand screen assembly comprises a base pipe, a screen, an inflow control device, and a plurality of plugs located between the base pipe and the screen. The plurality of plugs is held initially by corresponding release mechanisms at a position upstream of a bypass. The bypass comprises a plurality of flow passages which route inflowing fluid through the inflow control device and into an interior of the base pipe. The plugs are sized to at least partially plug corresponding flow passages of the bypass upon the occurrence of a trigger event which causes a release mechanism or release mechanisms to release corresponding plugs.
