Hardhat with a protected overhead cooling fan

A hardhat with a protected overhead cooling fan comprises: a main hardhat body component having an upper aperture through which air is drawn and pulled down into a battery powered cooling fan; a fan cover component spaced at least about &#xbc; inch from and permanently adhered to the main hardhat body with a plurality of linear ridges; a battery pack for the cooling fan; and a plurality of connecting wires. A method of use is also disclosed.

An intake module assembly for a vehicle engine is formed from a two-piece shell structure. First and second shells are aligned and joined together to form the entire air path from an air filter to an engine cylinder head. A throttle hose portion is formed as part of at least one of the first or second shells to conduct air to the throttle body and into the intake manifold. Other induction components such as an intake manifold, resonator, air filter holder, and throttle body components are also integrated into the first and second shells.

Intake module assembly

An intake assembly includes an intake manifold comprising several interfitting sections attached to each other to define a plurality of air passages, and an EGR conduit within the intake manifold including openings in communication with each of the plurality of air passages. The EGR conduit is in communication with a source of exhaust gases and provides for the proximate and decentralized injection of exhaust gases into the intake manifold assembly. The intake manifold assembly also includes a passage that is in communication with a positive crankcase ventilation system (PCV) and a purge gas system. Gases from the PCV system and the gas purge system mix in the passage and then are communicated to the each of the air passages through individual opening passages.

Modular intake manifold and integrated air intake system

An exhaust gas re-circulation (EGR) tube includes a dual seal assembly that prevents exhaust gas leakages. The EGR tube has a first end in communication with an exhaust gas source and has a second end extending into an intake manifold enclosed within an intake manifold housing. A tapered sleeve surrounds the EGR tube at the second end. The sleeve has a first end that is directly attached to the EGR tube and a second end that is spaced apart from the EGR tube to define a gap. The sleeve has a tapered body such that the cross-sectional area of the gap increases from the first end to the second end of the sleeve. A first seal is positioned between the sleeve and the intake manifold housing and a second seal is positioned between the sleeve and the intake manifold. Grooves are formed within the exterior surface of the tube to receive the seals.

Dual seal EGR tube assembly

The subject invention is an intake manifold with a swirl control valve assembly mounted to an internal combustion engine. The intake manifold assembly includes a plurality of air intake passages through which air flows to the combustion chambers of the engine. The air flow control valve assembly is mounted within the intake manifold between the intake manifold and the engine. The air flow control valve assembly includes a plurality of valve plates to direct air flowing through the air intake passages. The valve plates are disposed within the air intake passages and are mounted to a common shaft for rotation about an axis. The valve plates rotate between an open position and a closed position. Each of the valve plates has an opening that allows the flow of air through the air intake valve when the valve plate is in the closed position. The opening is configured in such a manner to direct the flow of are through the air intake passage. The size and position of the opening in each of the valve plates is arranged and configured to create a predetermined flow of the air into the combustion chamber to promote efficient combustion of the air fuel.

Integrated swirl control valve

A manifold assembly comprises an air intake manifold ( ) having at least one duct ( ) communicating air to an engine and a fuel conduit ( ) having at least one fuel injector ( A) for communicating fuel to the engine ( ) (FIG. ). The fuel conduit ( ) comprises at least a first fuel injector ( A) and a second fuel injector ( B) extending from the fuel conduit ( ) wherein the first fuel injector ( A) extends in a direction transverse to the second fuel injector ( B). At least one support member ( A) comprises at least one duct passage ( C) in communication with the at least one duct and at least one fuel injector port passage ( C) in communication with the at least one fuel injector ( C) (FIG. A). The fuel injector port passage ( C) has a predetermined length greater than the length of the duct passage ( C) (FIG. A).

Monocoque manifold assembly

A fluid directing assembly includes partitions which define fluid directing runners. The partitions extend from a first portion and include an engagement member extending therefrom. The engagement members extend from the partitions such that an interference fit is formed between the first portion and a second portion of the module. The engagement members assure that fluid communication between runners adjacent the apertures formed by the separate portions is prevented.

Air gap filler for a multi-portion air directing manifold

An injection molded screw retainer is employed on an air intake manifold system to retain screws which connect an active system body to a manifold lower assembly. The retainer is substantially &ldquo;L-shaped&rdquo; and includes a retaining portion and a substantially perpendicular attachment portion. The retaining portion includes a substantially hemispherical feature positioned substantially over the head of the screw. The oversized attachment portion is inserted within a pocket in the active system body. Ultrasonic energy applied by a sonic welding process slightly melts the outer surface of the attachment portion, creating a weld interference between the attachment portion and the pocket, securing the attachment portion within the pocket.

A rigid connector tube telescopically engages the fuel rail and the inlet of a top-feed fuel injector. Various embodiments of such connector tubes are disclosed. Such connector tubes enable a top-feed fuel injector to be used in an integrated air-fuel system where a fuel rail is integrally formed with a manifold such that the fuel supply ports of the fuel rail are in fixed spatial relation to the fuel injection ports of the manifold.

A fuel pressure regulator has one or more fuel-injector-receiving sockets directly attached to the cylindrical sidewall of its housing such that pressurized fuel in the fuel chamber portion of the housing flows directly into the socket(s).
