The present invention is directed to a series of polyesters that are made by the reaction of a diacid with a pre-formed mono-hydroxy, di-hydroxy and optionally a tri-hydroxy ester of polyols selected from pentaerythritol, di pentearythritol trimethylolpropane and mixtures thereof. When reacted in the sequence shown, that is pre-formation of the mono-ester, di-ester and tri-ester, selection of the proper ratio of one to the other and then and only then reacted with the diacid, do these polyesters remain free of a gel and form cosmetically elegant oil phases.

Complex polyol polyesters

The present invention has as its objective a series of citrate polyesters that have based upon fatty alcohols reacted with citric acid, and crosslinked by water soluble diols, resulting in polymers with improved water solubility. These polymers are ideally suited to personal care applications due to their unique feel delivered from aqueous solution or emulsions.

Alkoxylated citrate polyesters

The current invention is drawn to a series of citrate esters having high melting domains and liquid domains at room temperature. This that results in an ability to alter hardness, melt point and skin feel, making outstanding waterproofing and emollient properties when applied to skin.

Citric acid esters

The present invention is directed to a series of polymeric citrate esters that has very unique rheology properties. These materials find applications as additives to formulations in personal care products where there is a desire to have a structured film and flow properties. These compounds by virtue of their unique structure provide outstanding skin feel and outstanding waterproof properties in cosmetic formulations most notable sunscreens.

Naturally derived citrate polyesters

The current invention is drawn to a series of citrate esters having alkyl groups and a silicone groups esterified onto citric acid. This results an outstanding skin feel, making outstanding waterproofing and emollient properties when applied to skin. A required critical element of the invention is that both the silicone and the alkyl material be mono functional with regard to hydroxyl functionality. If either group has more than mono functionality, they will react with the citric acid (which has three carboxyl groups) to give undesired polymers. The ability to vary the ratio of alkyl to silicone results an ability to alter skin feel and consequently provide the cosmetic formulator with more latitude in choosing ingredients for incorporation into formulations.

Silicone citric acid esters

The present invention relates to a series of mixed esters of glycerin esters having two distinct alkyl groups present thereon. One is a low melting product, having a melting point of below 70&#xb0; C. and the other having a melting point of above 90&#xb0; C. The presence of the two different melting point groups on the glycerin results in a modification of the hardness, spredability and aesthetics of the resulting mixed ester. This ability to alter hardness and skin aesthetics makes the products of the present invention useful in personal care products ranging as additives to pigmented products to minimize syneresis, to stick products alter the hardness, shrinkability and aesthetics of the stick, to pressed powders where they act to modify the compressability of the powders to which they are added as well as the feel achieved when they are applied to the skin.

Mixed glyceryl esters

The present invention relates to a series of mixed esters of complex esters having two distinct alkyl groups present thereon. One is a low melting product, having a melting point of below 70&#xb0; C. and the other having a melting point of above. 90&#xb0; C. The presence of the two different melting point groups on the polyol results in a modification of the hardness, spreadability and aesthetics of the resulting mixed ester. Naturally derived glyceryl dimer polyesters having liquid and solid domains

The present invention has as its objective a series of citrate polyesters that have based upon guerbet alcohols reacted with citric acid, and crosslinked by diols. These polymers have a very low viscosity when one considers the molecular weight, and are ideally suited to personal care applications due to their unique feel.

Guerbet citrate polyesters

The present invention has as its objective a series of citrate polyesters that have based upon guerbet alcohols reacted with citric acid, and crosslinked by water soluble diols, resulting in polymers with improved water solubility. These polymers have a very low viscosity when one considers the molecular weight, and are ideally suited to personal care applications due to their unique feel delivered from aqueous solution or emulsions.

Alkoxylated guerbet citrate polyesters

The surfactants of this invention are quaternary ammonium compounds based upon 2,4,7,9-tetramethyl-5-decyne-4,7-diol. These surfactants, not only decrease the surface tension of aqueous systems, but by virtue of the cationic nitrogen containing moiety have outstanding substantivity for hair, skin and textile fibers, lacking in the parent non-ionic.

Acetylenic quaternary surfactants

The present invention is directed to a series of polymeric citrate esters that have unique liquidity, and outstanding feel when applied to the skin. The polymers of the present invention are made by polymerizing citrate mono and di fatty esters with a hydroxypropyl functional silicone to provide a polymer with a very low surface tension and outstanding skin feel.

Citrate silicone polyesters

The present invention relates to a novel class of polymeric compounds having specific quaternized amine based upon a dimer acid reacted with a combination of a monohydroxy functional amine and a specific di-hydroxy functional tertiary alkanolamine, to make an ester tertiary amine, which is a subsequent step is converted to a quaternary compound. Dimer acid is a C-36 diacid having a cyclic structure and reacting it with the two type of amine groups allow for the synthesis of a high molecular weight cationic compound which is extremely substantitive to human skin and are well tolerated by human tissue making them suitable for use preparation of barrier products for personal care applications. These materials are dimethylaminopropyl amine free, which is highly desirable in personal care applications.
