A bulb gripper for decorative light holder has a U-shaped body with projections on the interior surface that enable the bulb gripper to securely hold many different sizes of decorative light bulbs. The interior surface of each arm of the body has an inward tooth near the opening followed by several three spaced apart projections. The projections may have a tab portion which is connected to the arm by a narrower connector. The projections and the teeth on the arms form a ledge which supports the decorative light. A smaller U-shaped projection or several projections which are sized and configured to hold a mini-light are provided at the base of the U-shaped body. The arms can flex outward so that the body can receive and securely hold the decorative light.

Bulb gripper for holding decorative lights

A stake for holding decorative lights has a stake portion having a pointed end and a head attached to the opposite end of the stake portion. The head has an open center and a top portion. A bulb gripper is pivotably attached to the inner surface of the top portion, such that the bulb gripper can be moved from a position which is co-linear with a centerline through the stake portion to a position which is substantially perpendicular to the centerline through the stake. The bulb gripper has a tab sized and positioned to engage another tab on the head when the bulb gripper is in a position which is substantially perpendicular to the stake portion locking the bulb gripper in place.

A stackable molded plastic chair has a cup holder is connected to a cylindrical boss on the underside of a chair arm for movement between a retracted position lying underneath the chair arm and an open position extending away from the arm of the chair. The cup holder has a tubular boss having a first portion extending from the top surface of the cup holder and a second portion extending from the bottom surface of the cup holder. The first portion is at least partially within the cylindrical boss on the chair arm. A pin within the tubular boss has two or more spaced apart legs each leg having a foot. As the pin is inserted into the tubular boss the legs will move inward and then will move outward when the feet reach a recess on the inside surface of the cylindrical boss on the chair arm. The feet are each sized and configured to fit into the recess and the legs preferably have an outward curvature. The use of multiple legs having an outward curvature allows the pin to pop free when an excessive force is applied to the cup holder releasing the cup holder from the chair arm without breaking either the cup holder or the chair arm.

An implantable band for placement around an anatomical passageway, such as the stomach or other lumen, has the inner surfaces at each end attached to each other in the operative position. One end may include a passageway through which the other end extends. A lateral member may extend from the surface at one end and engage the other end.

A medical device for use on a bodily organ includes a concave support element that is removably attachable to the surface of the bodily organ, thereby defining an enclosed space adjacent to the bodily organ. The enclosed space is fluidly connected to a fluid management system for circulating a fluid inside of the enclosed space. The medical device also has an energy transfer element mounted to the concave support element and electrically connected to a control unit. In some embodiments, the energy transfer element transmits intense ultrasound energy in a frequency range of 1&#x2013;30 megahertz, and the fluid acoustically couples the energy transfer element to the bodily organ, and the fluid also cools the energy transfer element.

Medical device that removably attaches to a bodily organ

Disclosed and taught herein is a novel vacuum return mechanism whereby the operating mechanism of a cyclic tool may be reset to its start position after having completed its operative cycle. A piston connected to the tool's operating mechanism is caused, by action of the tool's operating mechanism, to create a vacuum within a cylinder during the tool's operative cycle. Upon completion of the tool's operative cycle, the vacuum returns the piston, and thereby the tool's operating mechanism, back to their start positions.

Return mechanism for a cyclic tool

A surgical instrument is described for tying together the two free ends of a suture placed into the tissue of a surgical patient. The surgical device comprises a handle having an actuator, an elongated shaft attached to the handle, a cartridge, and a pusher. The cartridge removeably attaches to the shaft and comprises a cable with two free cable ends with suture connectors attached thereto. The cable has a plurality of pre-tied loops disposed proximally to the two free cable ends. The pusher is slideably disposed on the shaft and transfers the pre-tied loops from the cable to the two free suture ends of the suture filament. In a preferred embodiment, the pusher comprises a lug train and a driver. The lug train has a plurality of lugs flexibly attached to each other and slideably attached to the distal end of the shaft. When the cartridge is attached to the distal end of the shaft, each of the pre-tied loops is positioned operationally over a corresponding lug. When the actuator is actuated, the driver moves the lug train distally along a top surface of the shaft, around the distal end, and then proximally along a bottom surface of the shaft, whereby the loops are released from the distal end of the instrument.

A vacuum-actuated tissue-lifting device and method for performing a surgical procedure in an operative space of a patient are disclosed. The preferred device has a shell with a profile configured to surround a tissue surface of the patient, a vacuum port located on the shell for applying a vacuum between the shell and the tissue surface, and an air conduit extending through the shell to permit air to pass into the operative space of the patient when vacuum is applied. In a preferred embodiment, the device has an entry port located on the shell and a perforable membrane located on the entry port to provide a seal when a surgical instrument is inserted through the membrane during the procedure. The device and method of the invention eliminate the need for carbon dioxide insufflation, mechanical lifting devices which create obstructions and high stress zones on tissues within the operative space created, and unwanted displacement of internal organs when the targeted tissue surface is lifted.
