A system for priming an infusion pump is disclosed. The system includes a priming cap including a septum and configured to matably connect with a male part comprising a needle and attached to a length of tubing for fluid, wherein when matably connected with the male part, the priming cap occludes the tubing.

A medical device system is disclosed. The medical device system includes a first medical device and a second medical device. A remote interface including a touch screen is also included. The remote interface is in wireless communication with the first medical device and the second medical device. The remote interface is configured to provide a user interface to the first medical device and the second medical device. The remote interface is configured to receive user input through a touch screen. Also, a charging device is included. The charging device is configured to receive at least the first medical device and the remote interface and the charging device is configured to recharge a first medical device battery and the charging device is configured to recharge an interface battery in the remote interface. The charging device is connected to a personal computer wherein the personal computer provides information to the remote interface.

Devices, methods and systems for wireless control of medical devices

A system is disclosed. The system includes a fill adapter device including a heat exchanger which includes a heating element and a fluid pathway, the fluid pathway fluidly connected to a filling needle input, whereby fluid enters the heat exchanger through the filling needle input and flows through the fluid pathway and whereby the fluid is heated by the heating element. The system also includes a reservoir including a plunger and a plunger rod and a filling needle configured to be removably attached to the reservoir, wherein the fill adapter is configured to be attached to a vial of fluid and wherein fluid from the vial flows through the fluid pathway and is heated and loaded into the reservoir through the filling needle.

A stopper for use in preventing any volume of gas from escaping from a drug container when used in connection therewith. The stopper has a body having a perimeter for slidable engagement with the interior of a drug receptacle; an outer surface; and an inner surface facing the bottom of the drug receptacle, the inner surface shaped so as to trap any volume of gas located within the drug receptacle when the body is slidably engaged therein. The invention is further directed to a drug container having a hollow body for holding a liquid. The body has an open end and a closed end. The container also has a stopper slidably received in the hollow body, and a feature for entrapping any volume of gas within the container.

Method and device for entrapping gas within a liquid drug container

The invention provides a system for dispensing fluid at relatively constant pressure. In a first embodiment, the invention dispenses a fluid from a chamber of varying dimension defined by a pre-tensioned resilient membrane. In a second embodiment, the invention dispenses a fluid from a chamber defined by a dispensing membrane, which is substantially surrounded by another fluid contained within a pressure chamber of varying dimension defined by a pre-tensioned resilient membrane. In a third embodiment, the invention dispenses multiple fluids, a first fluid from a first dispensing chamber of varying dimension defined by a pre-tensioned resilient membrane, and a second fluid from a dispensing chamber of varying dimension defined by a dispensing membrane substantially surrounded by the first fluid. In a fourth embodiment the invention dispenses multiple fluids from at least two dispensing chambers of varying dimension each substantially surrounded by the pressure fluid contained within a pressure chamber of varying dimension defined by a pre-tensioned resilient membrane. In a preferred embodiment, the resilient membrane is pre-tensioned beyond the point at which, as fluid enters the volume contained by the membrane and the volume increases, the first derivative of pressure over volume becomes zero for the first time.

A process and an energy director are provided for thermoplastically welding a rigid thermoplastic, such as acrylic, and a flexible thermoplastic, such a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) doped with plasticizers. The rigid piece includes an energy director where the joint is to be located. The energy director includes first and second ridges running the length of the joint and a groove running between the first and second ridges. The energy director is placed against one side of the flexible piece, and an energy horn against the other side opposite the energy director. The two pieces are then welded together using standard thermoplastic welding technology. The shape of the energy director promotes the melting and flow of both pieces as they are being welded together.

A process is provided for ultrasonically welding a rigid thermoplastic, such as acrylic, and a flexible thermoplastic, such a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) doped with plasticizers. The rigid piece includes an energy director where the joint is to be located. The energy director is placed against one side of the flexible piece, and an ultrasonic horn against the other side opposite the energy director. The two pieces are then welded together using standard ultrasonic technology. The shape of the energy director promotes the melting and flow of both pieces as they are being welded together.
