Embodiments herein relate to a method performed by a communication node for handling packets in a communication network, which communication network is an ICN network. The communication node adds a time stamp to a packet, which packet is requesting content of a service or comprises at least a part of the content of the service and is of a format associated with the ICN network, and which time stamp is added into an ICN header of the packet. Furthermore, the communication node transmits the packet with the added time stamp towards another communication node.

Communication nodes and methods performed therein for handling packets in an information centric network

A method performed in a network node for handling an Internet Protocol, IP, packet. The IP packet originates from a source node and addresses to a destination node in an IP communication network. Upon receipt of the IP packet, the network node decapsulates the IP packet to obtain, from a network layer header of the IP packet, an indication of a point in time to drop the IP packet. The point in time to drop the IP packet is based on a first maximum delay of the IP packet between the source node and the destination node. The first maximum delay was obtained from an application software running on the source node. The network node determines whether or not to drop the IP packet based on the indication, using a clock of the network node synchronized with a clock of the source node.

Method, apparatus and system for handling an internet protocol packet

A method by a WiFi AP for setting-up a WiFi connection with a wireless device, includes sending WiFi service credentials to a Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) AP for transmission through Li-Fi signaling that is broadcast for reception by wireless devices. The method receives and authenticates an authentication request that is received via a RF transceiver of the WiFi AP from the wireless device, which is responding to the WiFi service credentials that were broadcast through the Li-Fi signaling. The method then establishes a WiFi RF connection with the wireless device responsive to the authentication.

Establishing connections between WiFi access points and wireless devices via light fidelity access points

A coordination node can be configured to control communications between Visible Light Communication, VLC, Access Points, APs, and user equipments, UEs. The coordination node can: identify occurrence of an event relating to operation of a first VLC AP; determine that a second VLC AP and a third VLC AP each have communication coverage areas that are at least partially within a communication coverage area of the first VLC AP; control the second VLC AP to avoid it interfering with communications between the first VLC AP and a UE while it is within a common communication coverage area of the first VLC AP and the second VLC AP; and control the third VLC AP to avoid it interfering with communications between the first VLC AP and the UE while it is within a common communication coverage area of the first VLC AP and the second VLC AP.

Controlling communications between visible light communication access points and user equipments

A first network node, a client device and methods therein, for enabling acquisition and delivery of a resource to the client device in a communications network. When receiving from the client device a meta interest request indicating an interest for a wanted resource, the first network node extracts from the meta interest request one or more filter parameters related to desirable characteristics of the wanted resource. The first network node then obtains identifiers of resources available in the communications network, based on the one or more filter parameters, and sends the obtained identifiers of resources to the client device in response to the received meta interest request. Thereby, a user of the client device can see which resources with the desirable characteristics are available in the network and acquire one of the resources identified in this way, without having to specify the supplier nor the resource in the initial request.

Methods, network node and client device for acquisition and delivery of resources in a communications network

It is presented a method for session analysis in a wireless communication network. The method is performed in a network node of the wireless communication network and comprises receiving a session report from a wireless terminal, the wireless terminal being within a coverage region of the wireless communication network, obtaining a network report associated with the session report, and storing a session network report associated with performance of the obtained network report and performance of the received the session report, for the coverage region. It is also presented a network node, a wireless terminal, a computer program and a computer program product thereof.

Voice or multimedia session analysis in a wireless communication network

Methods and apparatus are disclosed for the propagation of data over a network. Data packets are transmitted with identifiers (e.g. multicast addresses) for devices or groups of devices which are to receive the data. The data packets are further transmitted with propagation indicators, indicating the cells over which the data is to be propagated (or how widely the data is to be propagated from its source). Thus only those deviceswhich are both addressed by the data packets and within the cells identified by the propagation indicator receive the data.

Methods and apparatus for propagating data in a wireless cellular network

A content distribution node that distributes content to display devices which are arranged in a spaced apart sequence along a pathway of vehicles for display to passengers. The content distribution node receives from a mobile gateway node of a vehicle, through a Light Fidelity signal receiver circuit, a profile message containing profile information related to the vehicle. The content distribution node selects, from among content files available in a content repository, a set of video frames for distribution to the display devices based on the profile information. The content distribution node distributes different video frames among the set of video frames to different ones of the display devices with timing of the distribution that allows the video frames among the set to be displayed on respective ones of the display devices in the sequence before arrival of the vehicle within a field-of-view of at least one of the display devices.

Li-Fi communications for selecting content for distribution across a sequence of displays along a vehicle pathway

A method by a coordination node is provided for controlling communications between Li-Fi APs and UEs. The method includes receiving peer connectivity reports from Li-Fi APs which identify Li-Fi APs having at least partially overlapping coverage areas, and developing a handover pathway data structure, based on the peer connectivity reports, that identifies Li-Fi APs that can receive communication handover from other identified Li-Fi APs. The method further includes determining an identifier of a first Li-Fi AP providing Li-Fi communication service for a UE, and accessing the handover pathway data structure using the identifier of the first Li-Fi AP to determine an identifier of a second Li-Fi AP to which handover from the first Li-Fi AP can be performed. The method then initiates handover of the Li-Fi communication service for the UE from the first Li-Fi AP to the second Li-Fi AP.

A method by a coordination node is disclosed for controlling communications between visible Light Communication, VLC, Access Points, AP, and User Equipments, UEs. The method includes identifying occurrence of an event relating to operation of a first VLC AP. The method further includes determining that a second VLC AP and a third VLC AP each have communication coverage areas that are at least partially within a communication coverage area of the first VLC AP, responsive to identification of occurrence of the event. The method then controls the second and the third VLC APs responsive to the determination to avoid their interfering with communications between the first VLC AP and any UEs within common communication coverage areas of the second or the third VLC APs. It is disclosed a sensor system () and a method therefore for providing quality data to a network node. The sensor system comprises two or more populations () of sensors, each population having a plurality () of single-purpose slave sensors distributed over a geographical area and at least one master sensor (). Based on the data quality received () from each single-purpose slave sensor, a master sensor may perform discretionary management () and terminate () single-purpose slave sensor not meeting data quality standards. The sensor system provides a possibility to deploy master sensors and single-purpose slave sensor networks in remote or inaccessible areas without large network planning expenditures, for example by 'carpet-bombing' an area with slave sensors and master sensors from the air.
