The present disclosure proposes a method for supporting a handover by a base station controller in a cellular mobile communication system including a terminal for performing a handover from a serving cell base station to a target cell base station, the method comprising the steps of: determining handover performance of the terminal; checking whether a resource of the same frequency and time slot as a frequency and time slot of a resource in use by the serving cell base station is usable in the target cell base station; and allocating a resource of the same frequency and time slot to the target cell base station, and transmitting a message indicating channel activation of the allocated resource to the target cell base station.

Handover supporting scheme in cellular mobile communication system

An apparatus and a method are provided for allocating resources, in which a base station allocates a time slot to a terminal in a wireless communication system supporting a time division multiple access scheme. The method includes a monitoring block of monitoring a channel state of the terminal after allocating a time slot for the terminal. The method also includes adjusting, by increasing or reducing, the number of the existing allocated time slots when the channel state of the terminal satisfies a preset time slot adjustment requirement.

Apparatus and method for allocating resources in wireless communication system

A method for mitigating inter-cell interference by a base station in a cellular communication system. The base station determines cells to which same frequency resources are allocated, and which cause interference to each other, and determines a starting time slot, at which resource allocation to each cell starts, as a different time slot for each cell, taking into account a number of the cells and time slots constituting time resources. In response to receiving a call setup request from a terminal, the base station selects a time slot taking into account interference information of each of the time slots, and allocates a resource based on the selected time slot to the terminal.

Apparatus and method for mitigating inter-cell interference in cellular communication system

A method and apparatus estimate a frequency offset of a receiver in a mobile communication system. A pilot signal and a signal of a control channel are received from a transmitter. Frequency offsets of the pilot signal and frequency offsets of the control channel are estimated, respectively. And the frequency offset of the pilot signal is corrected based on the frequency offset estimation of the control channel.

Apparatus and method for frequency offset estimation in mobile communication system

An apparatus is operable to control power of a base station in a distributed Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) wireless communication system. At least one beamforming matrix is used for processing transmission signals to terminals included in a terminal set for a multiple access is determined. Minimum power values required for satisfying a minimum transmission rate of the terminals are determined. Whether optimum power values exist is determined using the minimum power values, the beamforming matrix, and a limit transmission power of the base station. When the optimum power values exist, transmission power values for respective terminals are determined in a range meeting the limit transmission power of the base station.

Apparatus and method for controlling power in distributed multiple input multiple output wireless communication system

A terminal is operable to transmit and receive CQI in a broadband wireless communication system. An operating method of the terminal for transmitting a CQI in a broadband wireless communication system includes requesting a band Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) subchannel to a base station; after requesting the band AMC subchannel, transmitting a broadband CQI to the base station over a first control channel; and transmitting a first differential CQI relating to a band AMC allocated using the broadband CQI, over a second control channel. Thus, the overhead in the CQI feedback can be minimized and the CQI reception performance can be enhanced through the most robust encoding.

Methods and apparatuses for transmitting and receiving channel quality indicator (CQI) in broadband wireless communication system

A method and an apparatus for pre-scheduling in a closed-loop multiple user multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO) antenna system. A base station receives channel information representing a downlink channel condition of each mobile station from mobile stations in a cell, and determines a candidate user group for each of frequency bands included in an entire frequency band, based on the channel information, the candidate user group including mobile stations to which resources can be simultaneously allocated. The base station also instructs a mobile station included in each candidate user group to transmit a sounding signal through a corresponding frequency band. If the sounding signal is received through the corresponding frequency band, the base station performs a scheduling with regard to the mobile station included in each candidate user group.

Method and apparatus for pre-scheduling in closed-loop MU-MIMO antenna system

An apparatus and method for beamforming in a broadband wireless communication are provided. The apparatus includes a first calculator for determining a degradation factor to indicate a degradation degree of a target signal due to interference cancellation by using a target channel matrix and at least one interfering channel matrix, a second calculator for determining a new noise power value to be used to calculate a beamforming vector if the degradation factor is greater than or equal to a threshold, and for determining the beamforming vector by using the new noise power value, and a beamformer for performing beamforming on a signal transmitted/received with a target Mobile Station (MS) by using the beamforming vector.

Apparatus and method for transmitting and receiving uplink sounding signal in broadband wireless communication system

Provided is an apparatus and method for transmitting a channel sounding signal from a user terminal in a multiple antenna system. In the method, a channel for each of a plurality of antennas is estimated. The receiving signal power of each of the antennas is calculated using the channel information obtained through the channel estimation. The antenna with the highest RX signal power is selected. Therefore, it is possible to enhance the signal reception performance of the user terminal.

Apparatus and method for transmitting channel sounding signal in wireless communication system

An apparatus and method for controlling a transmit power of a sounding signal in a wireless communication system are provided. The method includes estimating a downlink Carrier to Interference and Noise Ratio (CINR) using at least one signal received from a Base Station (BS), determining a transmit power level for a sounding signal using a target CINR for the sounding signal, wherein the target CINR is determined based on the downlink CINR and multi-target CINR information, and transmitting the sounding signal according to the transmit power level.

Apparatus and method for uplink power control in wireless communication system

A method is provided for transmitting/receiving data in a communication system. The method includes determining, when data to be transmitted to at least one Mobile Station (MS) is generated, a region where an MS that receive the generated data among the at least one MS is located, allocating resources of a data transmission region divided into a first region and a second region to the MS that receive the generated data according to the determination result, including the generated data in a region where the resource is allocated, and including, in a MAP message region, resource allocation information of the region where the data is included and information on an MS that receive the data included in the resource-allocated region, and transmitting, to the MS, a frame including the region in which the generated data is included, and the MAP message region.

A closed-loop multi-antenna system and method thereof are provided. A transmitter includes a feedback information processor and a first transmit unit. A receiver includes a channel estimator, a feedback information generator and a second transmit unit. The feedback information processor receives feedback information from the receiver, calculates each of a sum rate in a multi-user mode and a sum rate in a single-user mode using the feedback information, and selects one of the single-user mode and the multi-user mode as a transmission mode depending on a comparison result between the sum rate in the multi-user mode and the sum rate in the single-user mode.
