A shooting game machine includes: a display device having a display screen for displaying a target; a hitting device which hits the target; a reference disposed in the vicinity of the display screen; an image pick-up device which picks up an image in an image area located in a hitting direction of the hitting device; a reference position detector which detects the position of the reference within the image picked up by the image pick-up device; and a hit position detector which detects the position on the display screen hit by the hitting device based on the position of the reference detected by the reference position detector.

A system for remotely controlling a movable object includes a drive controller which is provided on the movable object and controls the driving of the movable object in accordance with movement data; an emitter device which is attached to a movable object movable and emits light; a light sensor which receives light emitted from the emitter device to produce light data; a processor which calculates a position of the emitter device attached to the movable object based on the light data from the light sensor; a movement data generator which generates a movement data for the movable object in accordance with the position calculated by the processor; and a movement data sender which sends the generated movement data to the drive controller provided on the movable object.

A motion-controlled video entertainment system includes markers to be attached at a specified position on a player; a detector operable to detect threo-dimensional positions of the markers; a calculator operable to calculate posture parameters of the player based on the detected three-dimensional positions of the markers; a game processor operable to generate a game image in accordance with a predetermined game program and the calculated posture parameters of the player; and a display device operable to display a generated game image. The motion of a particular game character displayed on the display device is controlled in accordance with the motion of the player's body, thereby enabling realization of a more real atmosphere.
