A nasopharyngeal airway device is provided to be used in conjunction with an oxygen source and a capnometer. In one or more non-limiting embodiments, the nasopharyngeal airway device provides adequate oxygen delivery and monitors capnography output more efficiently. The device includes a nasal trumpet having one or more lumens, and a nasal cannula having a tube portion and at least two prongs. A first prong is insertable into a nasal cavity of a human subject, wherein the remaining prongs are equal in number to a number of one or more lumens of the nasal trumpet. The remaining prongs are adjacent to each other on the tube portion and configured to snugly fit into the nasal trumpet. The gases may pass into the nasal cannula from their respective ends into the prongs which may be separated by a single closure in the cannula so as to prevent the mixture of gasses.

Embodiments described herein provide a zero-crossing detector (ZCD) for a direct current to direct current (DC-DC) converter. The ZCD includes a ZCD integrator configured to receive a switch voltage and an output voltage of a power stage of the DC-DC converter and to generate a zero-crossing detect signal based, at least in part, on the received switch voltage and output voltage, where the zero-crossing detect signal is configured to indicate an output current in an output inductor of the power stage of the DC-DC converter is approximately zero. The ZCD may also include a ZCD offset calibrator configured to receive the switch voltage and generate a ZCD calibration offset based, at least in part, on the received switch voltage, where the ZCD integrator is configured to generate the zero-crossing detect signal based, at least in part, on the ZCD calibration offset.

Systems and methods according to one or more embodiments are provided for correcting a current measurement through a speaker in an audio system. In one example, a system for driving a speaker includes an output stage configured to drive a current through the speaker. The system further includes a first and second current sensor coupled to the output stage and configured to measure a positive current including a first measurement error and a negative current including a second measurement error through the speaker, respectively. The system further includes a processing block coupled to the first and second current sensors to receive the measured positive and negative current signals and configured to add a positive offset value to an input of each first and second current sensors, determine the first and second measurement errors, and correct a measured current using the positive and negative currents and the determined first and second measurement errors.

A battery assisted level shifter comprises a pull up transistor pulling up an output when a received input signal is high, a pull down transistor pulling down the output when the received input signal is low, and a battery element to provide voltage offsets. The battery element can be implemented using one or more pull-up transistors for assisting with pulling up the output. The level shifter can be used in class-D amplifiers, DC-DC power converters and interfaces between circuits having different reference voltages.

In today's environment class-D amplifiers are used to provide an integrated solution for applications such as powered audio devices due to their advantages in power consumption and size over more traditional analog amplifiers. Due to power output requirements, the output stages of power drivers such as class-D amplifiers require a supply voltage in excess of the technologically allowed voltage for the switches in the output stage. A level shifter is used to ensure voltages supplied to the output switches do not exceed the technological limits. An ideal level shifter should provide the optimal voltage swing to output switches under all process, supply voltage and temperature (PVT) variations. The ideal level shifter should also provide fast transitions when the control signal changes from high to low and low to high.

Systems and methods for driving high power stages using lower voltage processes

Class-D amplifiers have evolved from using binary pulse-width modulation (PWM) modulators to three-level PWM modulators. Three-level PWM drivers for audio applications offer the benefits of eliminating costly elements at the output of an audio system. However, they also introduce increased common-mode interference. Three-level PWM generates three states, but one state has two interchangeable representations which can be scrambled in order to shape the common-mode output spectrum.
