An absorbent product such as a sanitary napkin, a diaper, an incontinence pad or similar article, includes an absorbent body having an absorbent layer presenting a first surface and an opposite second surface. A first material layer is arranged in contact with the first surface of the absorbent layer. A second material layer is arranged in contact with the second surface of the absorbent layer. There is at least one bend indication in the form of a through slit or an elongated opening arranged in the absorbent layer. One of the surfaces of the absorbent layer is mutually joined with the material layer in contact therewith, within a region immediately surrounding the bend indication, on both sides thereof. The absorbent layer's opposite surface in this region is not joined to the material layer in contact therewith.

Flexible absorbent product

A sanitary napkin having an absorbent body and a layer of compressible and resilient, essentially non-absorbent material located adjacent a surface of the absorbent body which lies distal to a body of a water in use. The layer of compressible and resilient material has a surface area extending entirely over the surface of the absorbent body. Further, the layer of compressible and resilient material is thicker in a longitudinal central region of the napkin than in remainder of the napkin and the layer of compressible and resilient material is resiliently compressible in a direction perpendicular to the surface of the absorbent body, so as to urge the sanitary napkin to fill out all available space between the sanitary napkin and the body of the wearer during use.

Sanitary napkin and a method of manufacturing a sanitary napkin

A pants-type sanitary napkin or incontinence guard for women including a front part, a back part and an intermediate crotch part. An elastically stretchable waist border includes first and second side parts and central parts disposed therebetween. The opposing side edges of the front part and the back part are joined together by the first and second side parts of the waist border. The elasticized waist border has a greater resistance to stretch in the first and second side parts than in the central parts thereof, when no load is acting on the sanitary napkin or guard.

Panty-type sanitary napkin

The present invention relates to a sanitary panty including a back-part (2), a front-part (1), an intermediate crotch-part (3) and elastic devices (11-14) which extend between the front-part and the back-part of the panty and function to press an absorbent body (8) permanently mounted or removably attached to the panty into abutment with the wearer's body. Two elastic devices (11, 12) extend from a region (V) in the crotch-part of the panty to the front-edge of the front-part (1) while diverging relative to one another and extending generally symmetrically in relation to a central line (A--A) which extends through the back-part (2), the crotch-part (3) and the front-part (1) of the panty.
