The invention relates to a method and machining device for clamping and machining a control cabinet component in a machining device. The method includes the following steps: Arranging a workpiece configured as a control cabinet component on a work surface of a machining device; clamping the workpiece on the work surface, wherein a supporting unit with at least one clamping device arranged on it, is shifted to an edge of the workpiece using an actuator-driven shifting unit and a clamping element of the at least one clamping device is shifted from a released position to a clamped position when guided towards the edge of the workpiece, meaning that the clamping element comes to rest at multiple contact points on the workpiece so that the clamping element secures the workpiece in a machining position, preventing it from shifting perpendicularly to the work surface, and machining the workpiece using a machining tool.

A cable sequence for wiring of an electrical circuit with a series arrangement of a plurality of pre-assembled cables, each of which has a first cable end and a second cable end which lies opposite the first cable end. Each of the pre-assembled cables has a conductor and a conductor insulation. The cable ends are processed for the wiring of an electrical circuit in such a manner that a respective conductor end is insulation-free at the first cable end and at the second cable end, and connections between adjacently arranged pre-assembled cables in the series arrangement. By way of the connections, in each case a first cable end of a pre-assembled cable, produced beforehand as free cable end, and a second cable end of a next pre-assembled cable in the series arrangement, produced beforehand as free cable end, are connected to one another.

The invention relates to a device for machining a planar workpiece, having a machine stand which has a support surface (application surface) for a planar workpiece, and further having a machining head which can be moved relative to the support surface, which machining head has a tool for machining the workpiece and also has a holding unit ('hold-down unit') with a pressure plate whereby the workpiece is pressed against the supporting surface; characterized in that the pressure plate has a structure which is comprised of a plurality of pieces, preferably two pieces, wherein at least one of the pressure plate parts is movable back and forth relative to at least one other pressure plate part, namely it is movable between the application position, in which the pressure plate part presses the workpiece against the application surface when the workpiece is applied to said application surface, and a released position, in which the pressure plate piece is at a minimum distance away from the workpiece when the workpiece is applied to said application surface.
