A regenerative braking control system includes at least one sensor adapted to sense a front tire impact event and transmit a sensor signal responsive to the front tire impact event during vehicle braking and a regenerative powertrain interfacing with the at least one sensor and adapted to reduce regenerative braking torque responsive to receiving the sensor signal from the at least one sensor. A regenerative braking control method is also disclosed.

Regenerative braking control system and method

A vehicle, a vehicle parking assist system, and a parking method, is provided. A powertrain and a steering system may be operated to guide the vehicle into a parking location to complete a drive cycle based on a default tire radius, a tire angular velocity acquired during a drive cycle in response to a steering angle of the steering system exceeding a threshold value, and wheel and GPS vehicle speeds for the drive cycle.

An illustrative embodiment of the method includes selecting a vehicle speed at onset of transition from regenerative braking to friction braking of a vehicle, comparing the vehicle speed to a threshold value, applying a delayed regenerative braking torque ramp out to a hybrid powertrain and sending an undelayed regenerative braking torque ramp-out signal to a vehicle brake controller without at onset of transition from regenerative braking to friction braking of the vehicle if the vehicle speed falls below the threshold value.

Enhanced regenerative braking control method for brake booster pressure build-up delay compensation

A system for controlling regenerative braking in an electrified vehicle to prevent or minimize reduction of overall braking torque during wheel slip events includes an antilock braking system adapted to transmit an antilock braking system active signal and a regeneration powertrain interfacing with the antilock braking system. The regeneration powertrain is adapted to inhibit regenerative braking torque reduction responsive to receiving the antilock braking system active signal during a high deceleration braking event. A method for controlling regenerative braking in an electrified vehicle to prevent or minimize reduction of overall braking torque during wheel slip events is also disclosed.

A hybrid electric vehicle includes at least one wheel, a friction brake, a motor, and at least one controller. The friction brake is coupled to the wheel and configured to provide friction brake torque, and the motor is coupled to the wheel and configured to provide regenerative brake torque. The controller is configured to command the motor to provide a regenerative brake torque to satisfy a low frequency torque component or a high frequency torque component of a required antilock wheel brake torque during an antilock braking event.

Regenerative braking in the presence of an antilock braking system control event

A vehicle includes a control system configured to implement a method for regenerative braking control. The control system has at least one controller and is configured to control regenerative braking torque to be no greater than a regenerative braking torque limit when a wheel slip of a wheel of the vehicle is above a threshold value. The regenerative braking torque limit is non-zero for at least some values of the wheel slip above the threshold value.
