A touch sensor may include a substrate, a sensing pattern, and bridge electrodes. The sensing pattern may include a first pattern along a first direction and a second pattern along a second direction. The second pattern may include unit patterns isolated from each other. The bridge may electrically connect neighboring unit patterns, and the bridge electrodes adjacent in the first direction may be parallel to each other. An angle between an extending direction of the bridge electrode and the first direction may be from 45&#xb0; to 89&#xb0;. The substrate, the bridge electrode and the sensing pattern may be bent together to form a bending portion. The bridge electrode may extend in a direction the same as a bending direction. A bending angle between a body of the substrate which is not bent and an end portion of the bending portion may be greater than 0&#xb0; and less than 180&#xb0;.

A touch sensor according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a base layer, a first electrode layer disposed on the base layer, and a second electrode layer disposed at an upper level of the first electrode layer. The first electrode layer includes a plurality of first sensing electrode rows extending in a first direction parallel to a top surface of the base layer, and first traces branched from each of the first sensing electrode rows and alternately distributed on both lateral portions of the base layer. The second electrode layer includes a plurality of second sensing electrode columns extending in a second direction that is parallel to the top surface of the base layer and intersects the first direction, and second traces branching from the second sensing electrode columns.

A pad connection structure includes a substrate, a lower insulation layer formed on a top surface of the substrate, a pad electrode disposed on the lower insulation layer, and an upper insulation layer including an opening through which a top surface of the pad electrode. A step height via the opening is reduced by the lower insulation layer so that connecting reliability with a conductive connection structure is improved.

The present invention relates to a touch sensor having enhanced durability and optical characteristics and a method of manufacturing the same. The method includes: supplying a touch sensor to an annealing chamber, the touch sensor including a base film and a touch sensor layer formed on the base film; and performing an annealing process on the touch sensor in the annealing chamber, wherein a thickness of a transparent electrode unit constituting the touch sensor layer ranges from about 35 nm to about 150 nm. According to the present invention, by optimizing the thickness and annealing conditions of the transparent electrode unit that affect the durability and optical characteristics of the touch sensor, flexibility and durability of the touch sensor can be simultaneously enhanced while minimizing degradation of the optical characteristics of the touch sensor.

A touch sensor includes a substrate having at least one bending portion; and a sensing pattern on the substrate, the sensing pattern including a first pattern and a second pattern, the first pattern being arranged along a first direction parallel to a surface of the substrate, the second pattern being arranged along a second direction, the second direction being parallel to the surface of the substrate and crossing the first direction. The second pattern includes unit patterns isolated from each other, and a bridge electrode electrically connecting neighboring unit patterns of the unit patterns. The bridge electrode extends along the same direction as a bending direction of the bending portion.
