An image forming apparatus includes an attachment portion, an attachment detection unit, an output portion, a first cover, a first detection portion, a second cover, and a control unit. A control unit is configured to control opening movement of the first cover to open the first cover linked with movement that the second cover is opened when the output portion outputs information of replacing the developer accommodating container. After the first detection portion detects that the first cover is in a closed state after the first cover has been opened based on information output by the output portion, the first detection portion detects whether the developer accommodating container is attached to the attachment portion or not, and if the first detection portion detects that the developer accommodating container is not attached to the attachment portion, the control unit controls the first cover to open.

Image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus includes developer accommodating containers, mounting portions for the respective containers, a switching portion, and a manually operable cover. In a stand-by state after exchange of one of the developer accommodating containers is prompted, the switching portion switches a state of the container from a non-accessible state to an accessible state with opening of the cover. In a case that a jam occurrence signal is ON after the exchange of the developer accommodating container mounted in the mounting portion is prompted, the switching portion maintains the non-accessible state without switching from the non-accessible state to the accessible state at the time of the opening of the cover.

A post-processing apparatus which can respectively balance convenience of user using a manual stapling and convenience of user using an online stapling is provided. The finisher includes a stapler for performing predetermined post-processing on a sheet received and a control unit. The finisher also includes a stapler moving motor which moves the stapler to a position where first processing or second processing is performed. In the first processing, the predetermined post-processing is performed on a sheet which is conveyed from an image forming apparatus. In the second processing, the predetermined post-processing is performed on a sheet which is manually inserted.

An image forming apparatus, including: a decision unit configured to decide a size of a recording material on a manual feed tray; a storage unit configured to store the size of the recording material decided by the decision unit when the image forming apparatus is shifted from a first mode in which power is supplied to the decision unit to a second mode in which the power is not supplied to the decision unit; a display unit configured to display information; and a control unit configured to cause the display unit to display a screen for confirming the size of the recording material on the manual feed tray in a case where the size of the recording material decided by the decision unit when the apparatus is shifted from the second mode to the first mode does not match the size of the recording material stored in the storage unit.

A post-processing apparatus which can respectively balance the convenience of the user using a manual staple and convenience of the user using an online staple is provided. A finisher includes a stapler for performing predetermined post-processing on a sheet received and a control unit. The control unit switches between a first control mode which is allowed to perform predetermined post-processing on the sheet received from an image forming apparatus and a second control mode which is allowed to perform predetermined post-processing on the sheet received not via the image forming apparatus. In addition, the control unit controls the switching such that the second control mode is switched to the first control mode after a lapse of a first predetermined period.
