One-part hair dye composition

Provided are a one-part hair dye composition containing (A) a combination of 5,6-dihydroxyindole and 5,6-dihydroxyindole-2-carboxylic acid, (B) either one of (b1) ascorbic acid or salt thereof or (b2) sulfurous acid or salt thereof, and (C) an alkali agent and having a pH of from 8 to 11; and a method of selecting the kind of Component (B), thereby controlling a hair color upon dyeing the hair.

A non-aqueous cosmetic composition contains (A) activated zeolite, (B) a polyhydric alcohol having a molecular weight not higher than 1,000, and (C) a high molecular compound soluble in the ingredient (B). When shaken upon use, the cosmetic composition permits ready and even dispersion of the zeolite, exhibits good spreadability and compatibility on the skin and can be readily applied over a wide area. Moreover, the cosmetic composition also has excellent massaging effect.

A foam-type hair dye apparatus, has a container main body in which liquid hair dye containing a dye, surfactant, and thickener is stored; at least one jetting orifice for jetting the liquid hair dye from the container main body; and a liquid reservoir member disposed opposite the jetting orifice. Provided is a one-part air-oxidative hair dye composition containing (A) 5,6-dihydroxyindoline-2-carboxylic acid or a salt thereof, (B) an alkali agent selected from sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, ammonia, guanidine, basic amino acids and carbonates, and (C) from 10 to 50 wt. % of a water compatible organic solvent, said composition being substantially free of an alkanolamine, and having a pH of from 8 to 12. This one-part air-oxidative hair dye composition has excellent hair dyeing power.

The invention relates to a cosmetic composition comprising (A) a polyhydric alcohol and (B) a finely particulate metal oxide, wherein water is substantially not contained. The cosmetic composition has an optimum viscosity, undergoes no precipitation of particles, spreads well upon use and has good easiness of washing off and is hence particularly useful as a massaging cosmetic.

Novel alkaline cellulase K, CMCase I and CMCase II are obtained by isolation from a culture product of Bacillus sp KSM-635. These enzymes stably work in a wide range including an alkaline side, and their activity is shown even at low temperatures. Further, they have a strong resistance to surface active agents, chelating agents and proteinases. Therefore, they can be effectively utilized not only as an additive for clothing detergents, but also as a biomass and in other fields.

DNA frangments containing an alkaline cellulase K gene, which comprise about 4.0, about 2.4 and about 1.9 kilo base pairs, respectively, each having a specific restruction map, recombinant plasmids containing any of these DNA fragments, and recombinant microorganisms harboring any of said plasmids. The alkaline cellulase K gene is derived from a bacterial strain which belongs to the genus Bacillus and is alkalophilic, that is, capable of revealing an optimum growth in an alkaline pH region.
