A multi-spindle machine tool having separately and vertically movable first and second spindle units which are mounted on a main body thereof movable toward and away from a workpiece. A first vertically movable table is supported by a pair of guide rails provided on a frontal surface of the main body opposing to the workpiece. The first vertically movable table can be ascended and descended by a first actuator. A second vertically movable table is supported by a pair of guide rails provided on a frontal surface of the first vertically movable table opposing to the workpiece. The second vertically movable table can be ascended and descended by a second actuator. The first and second spindle units are fixed onto the first and second vertically movable tables respectively. Thus, the area of the first vertically movable table to be supported by the main body can be set to a relatively large value and the rigidity of the first vertically movable table can be kept effectively. Further, the rigidity of the second vertically movable table can also be ensured, thereby making it possible to reliably hold the first and second spindle units and to efficiently carry out various machining processes.

Multi-spindle machine tool

A replaceable gang head machine tool including a machine base, a working unit thereon, plural gang heads on the periphery of the working unit, and an index table on the upper side of the working unit, further including a supporting base positioned above the machine tool, a stock apparatus mounted on the supporting base comprising a center support, plural gang heads on the periphery of the center support, and an index table on the upper side thereof; and a replacing apparatus positioned away from the machine tool and the stock apparatus extending between the machine tool and the stock apparatus for effecting a replacement between the gang heads on the machine tool and the gang heads on the stock apparatus.

Replaceable gang head machine tool

A transfer type working system including a transfer line for intermittently conveying workpieces thereon. The transfer line has plural stages of working stations disposed in front and rear relationship. Each of the working stations has at least one machine tool for working on one of the workpieces on that station. Each of the machine tools comprises a ganghead replaceable machine tool having plural gangheads arranged to be selectively operable. Each of the working stations has, at a preceding position thereof, a front sensor for reading the kind of workpiece on a preceding position so that, in the course of conveying any of the workpieces to each of the working stations, one of the gangheads that corresponds to the kind of workpiece read is previously selected for operation by a signal obtained at the front sensor.

Transfer type working system

A replaceable gang head machine tool comprising a working unit having a driving motor mounted on a slide table adapted to be driven forwardly and rearwardly and an annular rail disposed on the machine base and carrying a plurality of gang heads adapted for being driven by an index table to selectively place a gang head in an operative position. A stockyard extends longitudinally adjacent the machine base and has a longitudinally extending runway guidably supporting a carrying truck for movement therealong and a plurality of replacement gang heads are disposed on the stockyard along the length thereof so that the replacement gang heads can replace the heads disposed on the annular rail by the carrying truck.
