A control method is provided for arc welding performed by repeating a short-circuit period and an arc period. The method includes: feeding a welding wire by a push-pull feeding control using a push-side feeding motor configured to rotate in a forward direction and a pull-side feeding motor configured to rotate in a forward direction and a reverse direction; temporarily storing a portion of the welding wire in an intermediate wire receptacle disposed along a feeding path between the push-side feeding motor and the pull-side feeding motor; and correcting a pull feeding speed of the pull-side feeding motor based on a store amount of the welding wire in the intermediate wire receptacle. The correction of the pull feeding speed is performed by correcting a waveform parameter for the pull feeding speed based on the store amount in the intermediate wire receptacle.

Arc welding control method

To stabilize a growth state of a droplet during an electrode negative polarity peak period in consumable electrode AC pulse arc welding. In an AC pulse arc welding control method for controlling welding which is performed by feeding a welding wire, and applying an electrode negative polarity base current during an electrode negative polarity base period, then applying an electrode negative polarity peak current during an electrode negative polarity peak period, and then applying an electrode positive polarity current during an electrode positive polarity period, to repeatedly apply these welding currents, the electrode negative polarity peak period includes a rising period Tu, a peak period Ta, and a falling period Td, a time ratio of the peak period Ta to the electrode negative polarity peak period is less than 20%, and the falling period Td is a period twice or more longer than the rising period Tu.

AC pulse arc welding control method

Welding is performed by alternately switching a pulse arc welding period (where welding is performed by forward feeding a welding wire by a rotation for the forward feeding of a push side feeding motor and a rotation for the forward feeding of the pull side feeding motor and feeding a peak current and a base current) and a short-circuiting transition arc welding period (welding is performed by forward/backward feeding the welding wire by the rotation for the forward feeding of the push side feeding motor and a rotation for the forward/backward feeding of the pull side feeding motor and feeding a short-circuiting current and an arc current). During the short-circuiting transition arc welding period, a forward feeding peak value Wsp and/or a backward feeding peak value Wrp of a pull feeding speed Fw are compensation-controlled based on a wire storage amount of an intermediate wire storage.

Method of arc welding

An arc welding method includes the following steps. Pulse arc welding is performed with the welding wire being fed in a forward direction during a first period. Short-circuit transfer arc welding is performed with the welding wire being fed in the forward direction and the reverse direction during a second period. The first period and the second period are alternately switched. The switching of the first period to the second period is performed in a manner such that no transfer of a molten droplet of the welding wire occurs during the final pulse cycle of the first period.

Arc welding method

An arc welding method is described where pulse arc welding is performed with a welding wire being fed in a forward direction during a first period and short-circuit transfer arc welding is performed with the welding wire being fed in the forward direction and a reverse direction during a second period. The arc welding method alternately switches between the first period and the second period, where the switching of the first period to the second period is performed during a peak period of the pulse arc welding.

A method is provided for controlling arc welding including forward and reverse feeding periods alternately switched. By the method, a set of a short circuit period and an arc period is repeated, and the arc welding is controlled such that the reverse feeding period shifts to the forward feeding period when an arc occurs during the reverse feeding period, and that the forward feeding period shifts to the reverse feeding period when a short circuit occurs between the welding wire and the object during the forward feeding period. The reverse feeding period includes a reverse feeding deceleration period having a time length that is adjusted in accordance with the time length of the short circuit period.

There is provided an arc welding control method for performing a forward/reverse feeding control of alternating a feeding rate of a welding wire between a forward feeding period and a reverse feeding period, and generating short-circuiting periods and arc periods to perform welding. The welding wire is fed forwardly upon starting the welding. The forward feeding is continued during a transient welding period from a time point at which the welding wire comes in contact with a base material and conduction of welding current is started to a time point at which convergence on a steady welding period is performed. The transient welding period is terminated at the short-circuiting period. The forward/reverse feeding control is started from the reverse feeding period after the termination of the transient welding period.

A consumable electrode arc welding method includes the detecting of a constriction formed in a molten droplet of the welding wire so as to reduce the welding current, the detecting of a smoothed value of the welding current, and the feedback controlling of the feed rate of the welding wire so as to make the smoothed value of the welding current correspond to a predetermined current setting value. The constriction detection is performed repetitively in a predetermined cycle. In each time of the repetition, the length of a constriction time, from the constriction detection till the arc generation, is measured. The number of constriction time lengths falling outside a predetermined range is counted. When the counted number is not less than a reference number, the transient response time of the feedback control is made longer.
