A robot includes: a drive link; two parallel passive links coupled to the drive link; and a support mechanism having two shafts. Each shaft is fixed to each of the passive links so that each shaft is engaged with a through-hole at an intermediate position of each of the passive links along a longitudinal axis thereof, and an auxiliary link rotatably attached to the shafts by bearings in which the shafts engage. The through-hole is formed in a direction that is orthogonal to a plane including the longitudinal axis. Each shaft includes a first shaft section engaged with the through-hole and abutting on one end surface, a second shaft section engaged with the through-hole and abutting on another end surface, and a fastening section applying a force in a direction that causes the first shaft section and the second shaft section to approach each other within the through-hole.

Parallel link robot

A boot seal is detachably attached to a joint including: a drive link and link members; and a ball joint for linking them to be relatively rotatable or swivelable. The ball joint includes a ball shank having a shaft section fixed to the drive link and a ball section provided on one end of the shaft section and a holder that is fixed to an end section of each of the link members and that has a ball-receiving section for supporting the ball section in a state where the ball section is surrounded. A cover main body that covers the gap between the ball shank and the holder and that is formed of a flexible material includes through-holes through which the shaft section is made to pass, a slit that continuously extends between the through-holes, and a fastener opening and hermetically closing the slit along the entire length thereof.

Boot seal, robot, and parallel link robot

A parallel link robot includes: a base portion; a movable portion; arms that connect the base portion and the movable portion in parallel; base actuators that are disposed on the base portion and that drive the respective arms; an additional actuator that drives an additional mechanism portion attached to the movable portion; an auxiliary link that pivotally connects the additional actuator to at least one of the arms; and a power transmission shaft portion that transmits a rotational driving force of the additional actuator to the additional mechanism portion. Each of the arms includes a drive link and two passive links. The auxiliary link bridges the two passive links and is pivotally connected to each of the two passive links. The power transmission shaft portion includes a ball spline in which a spline shaft and a nut are meshed with each other.

Industrial robot

A mechanical stopper device having a desirable stopper function while having a simple structure, and a multi-joint robot having the mechanical stopper device. A mechanical stopper is constituted by an elastically deformable body arranged on a second arm, and a contacting member arranged on a first arm so that the deformable body comes into contact with the contacting member when the second arm is rotated by a predetermined angle. The spring pin has a slit extending in the longitudinal direction thereof, and the extending direction of the slit when the pin is inserted into a hole intersects with a contact direction of the spring pin against the contacting member.

A workpiece transfer robot system including a machine tool provided with a workpiece support section and a robot capable of transferring a workpiece relative to the workpiece support section of the machine tool. The machine tool includes a cover surrounding at least the workpiece support section. The cover includes a first side wall provided with a first opening usable for a workpiece transferring task of the robot. The robot includes a track member defining a traveling axis extending in a direction perpendicular to the first side wall of the cover of the machine tool; a slider attached to the track member and capable of traveling along the traveling axis; a first arm attached to the slider and capable of swinging about a first swing axis; a second arm attached to the first arm and capable of swinging about a second swing axis parallel to the first swing axis; and a workpiece hold section provided on the second arm and capable of accessing the workpiece support section through the first opening of the cover of the machine tool.
