The purpose of the present invention is to provide a coating composition for outer walls and building exteriors, which gives a substrate water repellency, water resistance, rain streak stain resistance, stain resistance, and weather resistance; and an article, a building material for outer walls and building exteriors, each having a coating formed from the aforesaid coating composition. The present invention provides a coating composition for an outer wall or exterior of building, wherein the coating composition comprises the following components (A) to (D): (A) an emulsion of a silicone acrylic copolymer resin which is a copolymer of 60 to 99 parts by mass of (a1) a polyorganosiloxane represented by the formula (1) and 1 to 40 parts by mass of (a2) an acrylic acid ester monomer and/or a methacrylic acid ester monomer, provided that a total amount of components (a1) and (a2) is 100 parts by mass, the emulsion being in an amount of 0.5 to 20 parts by mass as a solid content, (B) at least one resin emulsion in an amount of 20 to 80 parts by mass as a solid content, selected from the group consisting of acrylic resin emulsions other than component (A), urethane resin emulsions and alkyd resin emulsions, (C) pigment in an amount of 1 to 50 parts by mass, and (D) a flame retardant in an amount of 1 to 10 parts by mass, provided that a total mass of the solid contents of components (A) and (B) and the amounts of components (C) and (D) is 100 parts by mass.

The present invention provides a vinyl acetate-silicone copolymer resin obtained by graft polymerization of vinyl acetate (B) onto an organopolysiloxane (A) represented by a specific general formula, wherein a weight ratio of the organopolysiloxane (A) to the vinyl acetate (B) is (A):(B)=10:90 to 95:5, a method for producing the same, and a vinyl acetate-silicone copolymer resin composition. The vinyl acetate-silicone copolymer resin of the present invention has slidability, substrate adhesiveness, and organic solvent solubility, and is suitably used for coating agents for various substrates, adhesive agents, exterior and interior paints for structures and building materials and the like, and cosmetics and the like.

Vinyl acetate-silicone copolymer resin and method for producing same

One of the purposes of the present invention is to provide an aqueous dispersion for cosmetics comprising black iron oxide, which has excellent dispersion stability, scarcely causes clogging to a pen type container for a long period of time, achieves good color development as a liquid cosmetic, and is capable of imparting the resulting film with water resistance. The other purpose of the present invention is to provide a liquid cosmetic comprising the aqueous dispersion. The present invention provides an aqueous dispersion comprising a black iron oxide, water and hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose phthalate, wherein the black iron oxide is surface-silylated with an alkyltriethoxysilane. One object of the present invention is to provide an emulsion composition comprising a silicone and an emulsion of a resin having a film forming property, which emulsion composition may provide a coating agent which effectively exhibits slidability of silicone on a substrate, while maintaining transparency. The present invention provides an emulsion composition comprising (I) an emulsion of a resin having a film forming property in a solid content of 60 to 99.9 parts by mass and (II) an emulsion of a silicone-acrylic core-shell resin in solid content of 0.1 to 40 parts by mass, a total mass of the solid contents of components (I) and (II) being 100 parts by mass, wherein a core of the silicone-acrylic core-shell resin (II) is composed of an organopolysiloxane (A), a shell layer of the silicone-acrylic core-shell resin (II) is composed of a poly(meth)acrylate ester (B), a mass ratio of the organopolysiloxane (A) to the poly(meth)acrylate ester (B) is in a range of 40:60 to 95:5, and a covering ratio by the poly(meth)acrylate ester on a surface of the silicone-acrylic core-shell resin is at least 50%.

The present invention provides a coating agent for leather, the coating agent containing: in terms of solid content ratio, (I) an aqueous urethane resin; (II) a matting agent; and (III) a silicone acryl graft copolymer resin emulsion in which the weight ratio of a polyorganosiloxane represented by a specified formula relative to acrylic ester units or methacrylic ester units is 50:50 to 90:10, and a leather on which a coating by the coating agent for leather is formed. This coating agent for leather has exceptional wear resistance and anti-fouling properties, and a leather on which a coating by the coating agent is formed can maintain a high-quality external appearance and high wear resistance.
