An object of the present invention is to enhance detection accuracy of a magnetic sensor having four bridge-connected magnetic sensing elements. A magnetic sensor includes magnetic layers-provided on a surface of the sensor substrateand bridge-connected magnetic sensing elements R-R. The magnetic layerincludes a main area Mand a converging area Shaving a width gradually reduced with increasing distance from the main area M, the magnetic layerincludes a main area Mand converging areas S, Seach having a width gradually reduced with increasing distance from the main area M, and the magnetic layerincludes a main area Mand converging areas S, Seach having a width gradually reduced with increasing distance from the main area M. The end portions of the converging areas S-Sand the end portions of the converging areas S-Sface each other, respectively, through gaps G-G, respectively. The magnetic sensing elements R-Rare disposed on magnetic paths formed by the gaps G-G, respectively. According to the present invention, detection accuracy is enhanced because a magnetic flux generated by current flowing in one magnetic sensing element does not affect the other sensing element.

Magnetic sensor

A ceramic capacitor comprises a ceramic sintered body, and first and second terminal electrodes formed on outer surfaces of the ceramic sintered body. The first terminal electrode is electrically connected to a land formed on a substrate through a first metal terminal. The first metal terminal has a first capacitor connecting portion mechanically connected to the first terminal electrode, a first terminal portion mechanically connected to the land, and a first intermediate portion electrically connecting the first capacitor connecting portion and the first terminal portion to each other. The first capacitor connecting portion of the first metal terminal is parallel to the substrate.

A three-phase D.C. brushless motor having a rotor and stator windings of three phases can be driven by alternately switching to the step of causing currents to flow through stator windings of only two phases among the stator windings of three phases or to the step of causing currents to flow through the stator windings of all the three phases each time the rotor rotates 30 degrees in terms of an electrical rotational angle, whereby torque fluctuation can be reduced.
