The objective of the present disclosure is to realize downsizing of the bus-bar holder, and then to downsize an electric rotating machine apparatus and an electric power steering apparatus. In a first protruding portion of the bus-bar holder, there are provided a columnar portion, two or more first ribs that are provided on an outer circumferential surface of the columnar portion in such a way as to be parallel with a center axis of the columnar portion and in such a way as to be spaced apart from one another, and two or more second ribs; the first rib makes contact with an inner circumference surface of a first through hole of the control circuit board; the second rib makes contact with an inner circumference surface of a second through hole of the bus bar.

An electronic control device includes first extended terminals extended from a multiple of terminals of opposing connectors respectively and second extended terminals extended from opposing control boards respectively. An electric power steering device includes a motor and a control unit that are arranged coaxially with each other in an axial direction of an output shaft and integrated with each other. The control unit includes power modules configured to supply current to the motor, a heat sink, a control board configured to output a control signal to the power modules, and a rotation sensor. The power modules, a column portion of the heat sink, and the control board are arranged in parallel to the axial direction of the output shaft. The rotation sensor is provided in a recess formed in a base portion of the heat sink at an opposite position to a sensor rotor mounted to an end portion of the output shaft on the control unit side.

In a control unit having a press-fit structure, a substrate includes: a connected portion to which the press-fit terminal is connected; and a guide portion extending from the substrate around the connected portion. The press-fit terminal includes: a tip end portion; a contact portion adjacent to the tip end portion; and an enlarged portion. The guide portion includes: an opening portion; a guide hole extending from the opening portion to the substrate; a tapered surface formed on an inner side of the opening portion; and a reduced-hole portion formed continuous to the tapered surface. The tip end portion of the press-fit terminal is configured such that the contact portion is positioned with respect to the connected portion while the enlarged portion is guided by the tapered surface and an inner wall of the reduced-hole portion.

A power-source connector is situated at or in the vicinity of the radial-direction middle portion of a housing and is fixed to the housing, and a first connection portion and a second connection portion for connecting the winding terminal of an armature winding with a control circuit unit are substantially symmetrically arranged at positions corresponding to the radial-direction peripheral portions of the power-source connector.

In a control unit including a press-fit terminal, a substrate includes: a connected portion into which the press-fit terminal is connected; and a guide member, which surrounds a periphery of the connected portion and extends from the substrate. The press-fit terminal includes: a connecting portion formed on a tip end side of the press-fit terminal; and an enlarged portion formed adjacent to the connecting portion. The guide member includes: an opening portion, which opens in a direction in which the press-fit terminal is positioned; a guide hole extending from the opening portion to the substrate; and a reduced-hole portion formed adjacent to the opening portion. The guide hole is configured such that, when the connecting portion of the press-fit terminal is connected to the connected portion of the substrate, the enlarged portion of the press-fit terminal closes the reduced-hole portion of the guide hole.

Provided is a permanent magnet motor including an armature, a rotor, and an angle detector. The angle detector includes a sensor magnet and a semiconductor sensor. The sensor magnet is magnetized into two poles and is provided in an end portion of a rotation shaft, and has the same rotation center as that of the rotation shaft. The semiconductor sensor is opposed to the sensor magnet in an extension direction of the rotation shaft. The semiconductor sensor and the sensor magnet have a gap formed therebetween, and a plate member made of a magnetic substance is provided between the semiconductor sensor and an end portion of the armature iron core on the semiconductor sensor side.
