Provided is a display device including: a light guide plate arranged so that an edge surface thereof is opposed to a light source, the light guide plate being configured to internally reflect light entering from the edge surface to cause planar light emission from a front surface of the light guide plate; and a reflective sheet arranged so as to be opposed to a rear surface of the light guide plate. Irregularities are formed on the front surface. The irregularities are formed to have a shape of a combination of first convex portions and second convex portions, each of the first convex portions including a first ridge line which continuously extends along a first direction corresponding to a light traveling direction, each of the second convex portions including a second ridge line which continuously extends along a second direction intersecting the first direction.

An imaging apparatus is realized which enables a thin finger vein authentication apparatus having a thickness installable in a portable information device. A light beam emitted from an object passes through a visible light cut-off filterand enters a pre-focus lens array. The pre-focus lens arrayfocuses the light beam on an opening of a micro aperture array. The light beam passed through the micro aperture arraydiverges, but it is focused with the post-focus lens arrayon the light detection device. With this structure, a thin imaging apparatus can be obtained with maintained resolution, and a finger authentication apparatus installable in a portable information device can be realized.

Moir&#xe9;s due to interference between two liquid crystal display panels in a display device which achieves three-dimensional displaying by using two liquid crystal display panels is to be prevented. By disposing a lenticular lens array between an upper liquid crystal display panel and a lower liquid crystal display panel, moir&#xe9;s and image blurs are prevented. This configuration can prevent the luminance levels and contrast of images from dropping.

The present invention prevents a moir&#xe9; generated by the interference of two liquid crystal display panels in a display device capable of performing a three-dimensional display using two liquid crystal display panels. By arranging an upper lens array and a lower lens array between an upper liquid crystal display panel and a lower liquid crystal display panel, a moir&#xe9; and smearing of an image can be prevented. Due to such a constitution, lowering of brightness and contrast can be suppressed.

Display device

A color cathode ray tube comprises a vacuum vessel including a panel portion having a phosphor screen on its inner face, a neck portion and a funnel portion joining the neck portion and the panel portion. An inline electron gun is disposed inside of the neck portion and includes a main lens and cathode producing a center electron beam and two side electron beams. A deflection yoke for deflecting the electron beams and a pair of 2-pole ring magnets for adjusting electron beam trajectory are disposed around the neck portion. The 2-pole ring magnets have a magnetic flux density distribution at a circle which is concentric with the ring magnets, wherein the radius of the circle corresponds to the distance between adjacent electron beams at the main lens. The ratio of the amplitude of the flux density in the radial component compared to the amplitude of the flux density in the circumferential component is 0.86 to 1.38 on the circle.

A color cathode ray tube has a vacuum vessel including a panel portion having a phosphor screen on its inner face, a neck portion and a funnel portion jointing the neck portion and the panel portion; an electron gun assembly including an electrostatic main lens disposed in the neck portion; a deflection yoke arranged around the neck side of the funnel portion for deflecting three in-line arranged electron beams emitted from the electron gun assembly to the phosphor screen; and a 2-pole ring magnet arranged around the neck portion for adjusting the trajectories of the electron beams. The 2-pole ring magnet is arranged to have its center closer to the phosphor screen than is the center of the electrostatic main lens of the electron gun assembly. The value, as calculated by dividing the value of the radial component amplitude of the magnetic field distribution of the 2-pole ring magnet on the circumference of a circle having a radius of the s-size, by the value of the circumferential component amplitude, is 0.86 to 1.38, and preferably 0.955 to 1.275.

The projection display apparatus has a picture compressions device for compressing the aspect ratio of the source picture formed on the face plate panel (PNL) of a projection cathode-ray tube (PRT) or a liquid crystal panel (LCP) to make it substantially 1 and an optical system for extending a picture (EXT) for extending the source picture having the same aspect ratio as that of the original picture. With this construction, the whole luminous flux passing the effective size of the projection optical system is maximized with the effect of improving the luminance and contrast of the magnified pictured projected onto the projection screen.

A projection system for pictures and a projection display apparatus which are designed to improve the luminance and contrast of a magnified picture on a projection screen by increasing the luminous flux projected within the effective size of projection optical systems. A charged-particle beam tube having an envelope of a dielectric material and a pattern yoke formed on the inner surface of the envelope. The pattern yoke has a pair of horizonal deflection electrodes and a pair of vertical deflection electrodes arranged alternately. The horizontal deflection electrodes have a greater circumferential width than the vertical deflection electrodes. The horizontal and vertical deflection electrodes are supplied with different bias voltages.

In an electromagnetic focusing electrostatic type image pick-up tube the electrostatic deflecting electrodes formed on the inner surface of the tube consist of 2 pairs of electrodes. Each of these electrostatic deflecting electrodes has a zig-zag shape from the electron gun towards the target. This zig-zag shape is twisted in the circumferential direction around the axis of the tube and variation rates of this twist amount are different, depending on the position in the axial direction.
