A coated super-abrasive grain comprises: a body composed of cubic boron nitride; and a coating film coating at least a portion of a surface of the body, the body having a dislocation density of 9×10/mor less, the coating film including one or more types of compounds composed of at least one type of element selected from the group consisting of a group 4 element, a group 5 element and a group 6 element of the periodic table, aluminum and silicon, and at least one type of element selected from the group consisting of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, and boron.

A sintered body includes cubic boron nitride grains as hard phase grains, and has a thermal conductivity of not less than 15 W&#xb7;m&#xb7;Kand not more than 40 W&#xb7;m&#xb7;K, for cutting a nickel-based heat-resistant alloy formed of crystal grains having a fine grain size represented by a grain size number of more than 5 defined by ASTM standard E112-13. A cutting tool includes this sintered body. Accordingly, the sintered body having both high wear resistance and high fracture resistance, as well as the cutting tool including the sintered body are provided.

Sintered body and cutting tool

A sintered body includes cubic boron nitride grains as hard phase grains, and has a thermal conductivity of less than 20 W&#xb7;m&#xb7;K, for cutting a nickel-based heat-resistant alloy formed of crystal grains having a coarse grain size represented by a grain size number of 5 or less defined by ASTM standard E112-13. A cutting tool includes this sintered body. Accordingly, the sintered body having high fracture resistance in addition to high wear resistance, as well as the cutting tool including the sintered body are provided.

A sintered material includes a first material and a second material, the first material being partially stabilized ZrOhaving a crystal grain boundary or crystal grain in which 5 to 90 volume % of AlOis dispersed with respect to a whole of the first material, the second material including at least one of SiAlON, silicon nitride and titanium nitride, the sintered material including 1 to 50 volume % of the first material.

Cutting insert and method of manufacturing the same

A sintered body includes a first hard particle, a second hard particle, and a binder. The first hard particle is an M sialon particle having a coating layer. The M sialon particle is represented by MSiAlON(in the formula, M is a metal containing at least one selected from the group consisting of calcium, strontium, barium, scandium, yttrium, lanthanoid, manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, and group IV, group V, and group VI elements of the periodic table, and relationships of 0.01&#x2264;x&#x2264;2, 0.01&#x2264;z&#x2264;4.2, and 1.79&#x2264;(6&#x2212;x&#x2212;z)&#x2264;5.98 are satisfied). The second hard particle is a cubic boron nitride particle.
