The present invention provides a method for measuring an end portion shape of a threaded pipe or tube P, the method including: a thread axis detection step; a laser light positioning step; a laser light image capture step; and a shape calculation step. In the laser light positioning step, the light sourceand the image capture deviceare moved together so that: the optical axis LA of the light source is located so as to pass through a measurement point D (X1, Y1, Z1) on the thread axis A, the measurement point being located in the measurement target region within a plane NP including the thread axis; and the laser light L extends in a slit-like form within the plane.

Method for measuring end portion shape of threaded pipe or tube

The present invention provides a method for automatically measuring a thread element at an end portion of a pipe or tube P after thread processing, on a thread processing linein which thread processing is performed on the end portion of each pipe or tube P which is successively conveyed, comprising: a cleaning step of cleaning the end portion of the pipe or tube by a thread cleaning apparatusafter the thread processing; a drying step of drying the end portion of the pipe or tube P cleaned in the cleaning step by a thread drying apparatus; and a measuring step of measuring the thread element at the end portion of the pipe or tube P by an automatic thread element measurementafter drying, wherein the end portion of the pipe or tube is put under a clean atmosphere at least in the measuring step.
