A gear shift control device of a saddle ride type vehicle includes an operation pedal; a movable part which includes a movable member interlocking with and connected to the operation pedal and which has at least one of a click mechanism configured to give click feeling to an operation of the operation pedal, a stopper mechanism configured to restrict a turning operation range of the operation pedal, and a return mechanism configured to apply a spring force in a return direction to the operation pedal; and a detector which detects a gear shift operation performed by using the operation pedal, the gear shift control device configured to make a transmission perform a gear shift on the basis of a detection result of the detector.

A saddle-riding vehicle mounted with a V engine between a front wheel and a rear wheel, the V engine having a front cylinder portion extending obliquely forwardly and upwardly from a crankcase and a rear cylinder portion extending obliquely rearwardly and upwardly from the crankcase. A main switch is disposed between the front cylinder portion and the rear cylinder portion, and also an intake system is disposed between the front cylinder potion and the rear cylinder portion, wherein the main switch is fixed to the intake system. An exhaust system for a motorcycle includes a bracket which includes a joint portion, an engine support portion, and a swing-arm support portion. The joint portion is configured to be connected to a vehicle-body frame. The engine support portion is configured to support an engine. The swing-arm support portion is provided separately from the joint portion and configured to support a swing arm which is swingable with respect to the vehicle-body frame and at a rear end of which a rear wheel is provided. An exhaust pipe extends rearwards from the engine. A muffler is connected to a rear end of the exhaust pipe and disposed along the swing arm. A motorcycle includes a fuel tank mounted on a main frame member, an engine arranged below the main frame member, and ignition coils arranged below the fuel tank. The main frame member includes a pair of sub-frame members arranged in a vehicle-width direction in a spaced-apart manner. A coil-holding structure, formed of a plastic resin material, is disposed on the main frame member for arranging the ignition coils thereon between the pair of sub-frame members. A base portion of the coil-holding structure has one or more openings formed therein so as to expose portions of the ignition coils to a traveling wind, during vehicle operation. One of the ignition coils, which is arranged close to a rear side of a vehicle body, is disposed at a position lower than a position of the ignition coil which is arranged close to a front side of the vehicle body.

The present invention provides a wire/pipe support device of a motorcycle that can possess a sufficient space for accommodating a wire/pipe without increasing the degree of forming of a vehicle body frame. A wire/pipe support device includes a groove-shaped engaging portion that is engaged with a main frame that constitutes a vehicle body frame of a motorcycle and has a lower surface thereof opened. A groove-shaped accommodating portion receives the wire/pipe thereon and has an upper surface thereof opened. The engaging portion is mounted on the vehicle body frame by engaging the engaging portion with the vehicle body frame from above. The wire/pipe is placed on the accommodating portion. The wire/pipe support device is pushed from above by a fuel tank directly or by way of a cushion member thus preventing the floating of the wire/pipe support device from the vehicle body frame and the rotation of the wire/pipe support device about the vehicle body frame.

In a motorcycle in which a rear wheel is suspended by a rear-wheel suspending part provided of a body frame, a fuel tank is attached in an upper portion of the body frame, an engine is attached in a lower portion of the body frame, a fuel injection valve is provided on the intake side of the engine, and fuel in the fuel tank is supplied to the fuel injection valve by a fuel pump, the fuel pump is attached to the body frame near the rear wheel suspending part. The degree of freedom of layout of the fuel pump can be increased and the fuel pump can be disposed in a position far from the engine, so that thermal effects of the engine onto the fuel pump can be suppressed.

In a motorcycle in which a main seat, a fuel tank, and an engine are supported by a vehicle body frame, a center cover is disposed so as to be laid across a pair of left and right pipe support members. A fuel pump and an ignition coil are supported by and positioned on the center cover. The aforementioned arrangement provides support for auxiliary equipment for the engine without the necessity of using a special supporting member and without impairing the layout of members, such as a battery case in the vicinity of the engine.
