According to one embodiment, a gripping tool includes a gripper. The gripper is flexible. A granular material is provided in an interior of the gripper. The gripping tool grips a workpiece by depressurizing the interior of the gripper in a state in which the gripper is caused to contact the workpiece. The gripper includes a first portion contacting the workpiece, a second portion opposing the first portion, and a fibrous membrane having a plurality of pores and being provided between the first portion and the second portion. A diameter of at least a portion of the pores is smaller than a diameter of the granular material. The granular material is provided between the fibrous membrane and the second portion.

The sealed secondary battery having the first sealing body welded thereto is charged, and the sealed secondary battery is discharged after the charge. A hole is bored in the first sealing body to form a hole portion after the discharge, a second sealing body is placed to cover the first sealing body, and the second sealing body is welded to the lid body through the first sealing body.

According to one embodiment, a manufacturing apparatus for a sealed secondary battery includes a chamber, pressure reduction unit, sealer transfer unit, and welding unit. The chamber accommodates therein a battery container injected with an electrolyte through an injection hole and is hermetically closed. The pressure reduction unit reduces pressure inside the chamber. The sealer transfer unit is configured to mount a sealer for sealing the injection hole on the injection hole of the battery container in the chamber decompressed by the pressure reduction unit. The welding unit is configured to laser-weld the sealer to the battery container by applying a laser beam to the peripheral edge portion of the sealer on the battery container through a laser transmission window formed in one surface of the chamber.
