The present invention refers to a method for producing a low-emitting plasticised polyvinylchloride composition, having a fusion time of less than 5.50 s and a volatility of less than 10% weight loss, by mixing pentaerythritol tetravalerate with a polyvinylchloride composition, the fusion time being measured according to DIN 54 802 and ISO/DIS 4574 and the volatility being measured according to ISO 176 Method A. In a further aspect the present invention refers to a thermoplastic article suitable for use in environments where the article is exposed to heat, wherein the thermoplastic article is based on a plasticized polyvinylchloride composition produced by the method of the present invention.

Non-phthalic plasticiser

Disclosed is an oxidatively drying alkyd resin composition and a method for preparing said composition. Said composition is obtained by admixing an aqueous silica sol into a substantially 100% alkyd resin being in a liquid state either at ambient temperature or at an elevated temperature. Said silica sol is added in an amount of 0.1-10% by weight calculated as 100% silica on 100% alkyd resin. The use of a said composition is in a further aspect disclosed.

Alkyd resin composition comprising silica

A lubricant ester having enhanced hydrolytic stability is disclosed. The ester is a mono or diester of 2-ethyl-2-butyl-1,3-propanediol or an alkoxylate thereof and at least one carboxylic acid having 5-10 carbon atoms. The invention in a further aspect refers to a refrigeration working fluid comprising said ester and at least one halocarbon refrigerant.

Lubricant ester

A thermoplastic compound comprising at least one linear or branched thermoplastic polymer or copolymer, having at least one reactive or graftable site (F,), which polymer is compounded with at least one hyperbranched dendritic polyester macromolecule being composed of a monomeric or polymeric nucleus and one or more monomeric or polymeric branching or spacing chain extenders. The macromolecule is optionally chain terminated and/or functionalized, whereby terminal chain extender functions, chain termination and/or functionalization provides the macromolecule with at least one reactive or graftable site (F,) being reactive to or graftable onto said reactive or graftable site (F,). In a further aspect, the invention relates to a thermoplastic composition comprising two or more components, whereby at least one is said thermoplastic compound. In yet a further aspect, the invention relates to a thermoplastic article made of one or more thermoplastic compounds, whereby at least one is said thermoplastic compound.

Thermoplastic compound

A partially or fully cured thermosetting product which includes a cured and molded product of a thermosetting composition. The composition includes 70% to 99% by weight of at least one thermosetting resin or compound and 1% to 30% by weight of at least one toughening agent. The toughening agent is at least one hyperbranched dendritic macromolecule formed of ester units, optionally in combination with ether units.

A hyperbranched macromolecule of polyester type comprising a central monomeric or polymeric nucleus and at least one generation of a branching chain extender having at least three reactive sites of which at least one is a hydroxyl or hydroxyalkyl substituted hydroxyl group and at least one is a carboxyl or terminal epoxide group. The nucleus is an epoxide compound having at least one reactive epoxide group. Optionally, the macromolecule comprises at least one generation consisting of at least one spacing chain extender having two reactive sites of which one is a hydroxyl or hydroxyalkyl substituted hydroxyl group and one is a carboxyl or terminal epoxide group. The macromolecule may be terminated by means of at least one chain stopper.
