A high voltage electrical component for an electric vehicle is provided. The component comprises a polymer composition that includes a polymer matrix containing a liquid crystalline polymer. The composition exhibits a comparative tracking index of about 125 volts or more as determined in accordance with IEC 60112:2003 at a thickness of 3 millimeters. Further, the composition defines an orange surface that is characterized by a L* value of from about 55 to about 75, an a* value of from about 18 to about 38, and a b* value of from about 22 to about 42, wherein L*, a*, and b* are calculated using CIELAB units according to ASTM D2244-16.

High voltage component for an electric vehicle

A polymer composition that can exhibit excellent strength and flexibility under a variety of different conditions is provided. More particularly, the polymer composition contains a polyarylene sulfide, epoxy-functional polymeric impact modifier, and a crosslinking system that includes a metal carboxylate. In certain cases, the crosslinking system may also employ a crosslinking agent that is 'multi-functional' to the extent that it contains at least two reactive, functional groups.

Crosslinkable polyarylene sulfide composition

Injection molded parts with a small dimension that exhibit high heat resistance are described. Thermoplastic compositions that can be utilized to form the injection molded parts are described. The thermoplastic composition includes a polyarylene sulfide and a crosslinked impact modifier. The thermoplastic composition can also include siloxane polymers, thermoplastic elastomers, or other additives that can further improve the characteristics of the injection molded parts.

Heat resistant toughened thermoplastic composition for injection molding

This invention provides a method of initiating chain reaction in a chain reaction medium including (a) a macroinitiator and (b) chain reactants selected from monomers, reactive oligomers, reactive diluents and derivatives thereof and mixtures of the forgoing. The macroinitiator includes a multidentate anchor segment coordinated with a magnetic nanoparticle through more than one bond, and a chain reaction initiator segment bound to the multidentate anchor and providing a weak bond that can be cleaved to initiate a chain reaction. The method further comprises subjecting the chain reaction medium to an alternating current magnetic field to vibrate the magnetic nanoparticle and thereby cleave the weak bond, the cleavage resulting in the initiation of a chain reaction involving the chain reactants.
