A wheel brake arrangement for a wheel of a vehicle, the wheel brake arrangement comprising a retainer bar and a resilient member connected between the retainer bar and a brake pad arrangement of the wheel brake arrangement.

Wheel brake arrangement

A brake pad retainer arrangement for holding a brake pad in position relative to a disc in a disc brake. The arrangement comprises an elongated retainer bracket arranged to extend transversely over the disc and the brake pad, wherein the retainer bracket is spring loaded to press against a rim portion of the brake pad. The retainer bracket is also arranged to engage the rim portion at an angle, thereby biasing the brake pad in a direction away from the disc.

Brake pad retainer arrangement

A vehicle wheel end assembly comprising a wheel hub, rotatably mounted on a wheel axle spindle by a wheel bearing s comprising a roller bearing. The wheel bearing has a bearing inner ring mounted on an external section of the wheel axle spindle and a bearing outer ring mounted in an internal section of the wheel hub. The assembly further comprises a threaded hub nut mounted at the end of the wheel axle spindle to fix the bearing inner ring on the wheel axle spindle and a rotational lock mechanism to prevent relative rotation between the bearing inner ring and the wheel axle spindle. The rotational lock mechanism comprises a tangential surface arranged to intersect a part of an inner circumference of the bearing inner ring at right angles to the axis of rotation in a plane located at or adjacent an outer radial end surface of the bearing inner ring.

A control unit arranged to monitor a load distribution of a vehicle when the vehicle is in motion, the control unit comprising an interface arranged to receive a plurality of load values associated with one or more vehicle axles and/or one or more vehicle wheels from a plurality of load sensors arranged on the vehicle, wherein the control unit is arranged to determine a vehicle load distribution based on the plurality of load values, to compare the determined vehicle load distribution to a pre-determined allowable vehicle load distribution, and to trigger an emergency procedure in case the determined vehicle load distribution differs from the pre-determined vehicle load distribution by more than an allowable amount.

A vehicle calliper disc brake comprising a brake disc connected to a vehicle wheel and having inboard and outboard side surfaces and a rotational axis; an actuator arranged in a calliper housing to displace at least one piston to actuate the disc brake; the calliper housing having facing first and second side walls on opposite sides of the brake disc, where the first side wall has at least one piston slidably mounted in a cavity between the side walls and where the second side wall is part of a calliper bridge extending from the first wall and spanning the brake disc.

A brake pad retainer system in a vehicle disc brake comprises a calliper bridge and a calliper housing supporting brake pads on either side of a rotary brake disc, wherein the system is arranged to hold one brake pad in position relative to the calliper bridge. The retainer system comprises a retainer bracket arranged parallel to the brake disc axis and extending across a back plate of the brake pad, and a retaining spring arranged along a radially outer portion of the back plate and extending between the retainer bracket and the back plate. The retainer bracket has an angled surface arranged in contact with a corresponding first angled surface on the retaining spring. The retaining spring has a second angled surface arranged in contact with a corresponding angled surface on the radially outer portion of the back plate. The disclosure also relates to a brake pad.

A wheel end assembly for a vehicle, comprising a central wheel support member such as a spindle or a steering knuckle, and an outboard wheel end bearing arranged concentrically around the central wheel support member. The outboard wheel end bearing comprises roller elements accommodated between an inner race-forming part and an outer race-forming part surrounding the inner race-forming part. The inner race-forming part is configured to be supported by the central wheel support member. The central wheel support member comprises a first rotational lock portion. Each disc plate has a wear surface and a disc body facing surface. The brake disc has a geometrical centre axis. Each disc plate has an inner periphery and an outer periphery extending from the wear surface to the disc body facing surface. A first ledge () mates with the inner periphery of the first disc plate, and a second ledge () mates with the inner periphery of the second disc plate. Each ledge comprises at least a ledge portion which is inclined relative to the geometrical centre axis for counteracting axial movement of the disc plates relative to the central disc body.

A hub lock nut assembly for retaining a vehicle wheel hub in position. The hub lock nut assembly comprising a hub lock nut and a mating component with which the hub lock nut is arranged to be mated in a mated position. The hub lock nut comprises a circumferential inner wall defining a central hole, the inner wall having a threaded portion. One of the hub lock nut or the mating component comprises at least one resilient portion adapted to be movable in a radial direction outwardly of the central hole when subjected to an external force provided by the other of the mating component or the hub lock nut.
