An actuator system includes a piston-cylinder arrangement including a piston that is movable with respect to a cylinder. A first flow path is in fluid communication with the piston-cylinder arrangement and a second flow path is in fluid communication with the piston-cylinder arrangement. A control system is operable to fluidly connect the first flow path to a source of high-pressure fluid and to connect the second flow path to a drain to move the piston in a first direction. A pressure sensor is fluidly connected to the first flow path and is operable to measure sufficient pressure data during the movement of the piston to generate a pressure versus time curve. The control system is operable to compare the generated pressure versus time curve to a known standard pressure versus time curve stored in the control system to determine the condition of the piston-cylinder arrangement.

Actuator predictive system

An object detection and tracking system to identify an object of interest and to determine the location of the object within an area. The system includes a processing unit, a visual image system, a thermal image system, and a location mapping system. The visual image system is positioned relative to an area to capture a visual image of at least a portion of the area. The thermal image system is positioned relative to the area to capture a thermal image of at least a portion of the area concurrently with capture of the visual image to cooperatively identify an object in the area. The at least portion of the area captured in the thermal image conforms to the at least portion of the area captured in the visual image. The location mapping system is positioned relative to the area to determine a location of the object in the area.

Object detection and tracking system

An imaging system positioned relative to a three-dimensional area for capturing an image includes an image sensor having an X-Y plane and an aspect ratio defined by the quantity of pixels in the X-Y plane; and a non-linear light focusing element constructed with a profile to form an altered view of a three-dimensional desired zone of the area with a desired pixel distribution. The non-linear light focusing element redirects the pixels of the image sensor from an undesired zone of the area to within a frame that encompasses the three-dimensional desired zone of the area to form the altered view of the desired zone. The image sensor captures the altered view of the desired zone to match the aspect ratio of the image sensor.

Imaging system including a non-linear reflector

A module gathers information about the level of water in a water well and sends the information to a database. A sensor tracks the level of water in the well, how it changes over time, and the pace of recharge including the rate of water replenishment from the groundwater source. The system can be programmed to send alerts to interested parties when certain thresholds are reached.

System for well monitoring

A lighting system includes a light emitting element operable to emit light at a level between zero and 100 percent, a light level sensor positioned to detect a total level of light, and a motion detector positioned to detect a motion in a predefined space. A controller is coupled to the light emitting element, the light level sensor, and the motion detector and is operable to compare a measured total level of light to a set point and to activate the light emitting element in response to the measured total light level being below the setpoint. The controller is further operable to activate the light emitting element in response to the detection of motion within the space.

Control system for lighting assembly

A vision testing device includes a hood having an interior space defining a first side and a second side. A first electronic device is operable to project a first image to the first side and a second electronic device is operable to project a second image to the second side. The first image and the second image comprise computer-generated images. A mirror extends from the first side to the second side and is positioned to reflect the first image and the second image. A first viewing lens is in optical communication with the first side and is configured to receive the first image reflected from the mirror. A second viewing lens is in optical communication with the second side and is configured to receive the second image reflected from the mirror.

Functional vision tester

A vision testing device includes a partition defining a first side and a second side and an electronic device operable to project a first image to the first side and a second image to the second side. The first image and the second image comprise computer-generated images, and the first image is identical to but offset from the second image. A mirror extends from the first side to the second side and is positioned to reflect the first image and the second image. A first viewing lens is in optical communication with the first side and configured to receive the first image reflected from the mirror. A second viewing lens is in optical communication with the second side and configured to receive the second image reflected from the mirror.

A labeling apparatus is for applying labels to articles advanced along an article conveyor. The labeling apparatus may include a frame to be positioned adjacent the article conveyor, and a labeler carried by the frame. The labeler may include a housing, and a label supply carried by the housing and having a label strip being separable along a longitudinal centerline, and labels carried by the label strip. The labeler may also include a separation notch member carried by the housing for separating the label strip into separated strip portions as it is advanced thereover, a rotary bellows wheel carried by the housing, and bellows carried by the rotary bellows wheel to pick up labels from the separation notch member and to place the labels on the articles advanced along the article conveyor. The labeler may also include a pay-out motor adjacent the label supply to pay out the label strip therefrom, and a take-up motor downstream from the separation notch member to take up the separated strip portions.

Labeling apparatus with pay-out and take-up stepper motors and related methods

A labeling apparatus is for applying labels to articles advanced along an article conveyor. The labeling apparatus may include a frame to be positioned adjacent the article conveyor, and a labeler carried by the frame. The labeler may include a housing, a rotary bellows wheel carried by the housing, and bellows carried by the rotary bellows wheel. The rotary bellows wheel and adjacent portions of the housing may define a porting arrangement for selectively connecting the rotary bellows wheel to a fluid flow to selectively control internal fluid pressure for the bellows so that each bellows is movable between a retracted label pick-up position and an extended label-applying position and so that a peak negative internal fluid pressure is applied at the label pick-up position and a peak positive internal fluid pressure is applied at the label-applying position.

Labeling apparatus having porting arrangement and related methods

A labeling apparatus is for applying labels to articles advanced along an article conveyor. The labeling apparatus may include a frame to be positioned adjacent the article conveyor, and a labeler carried by the frame. The labeler may include a housing having a sidewall, a shaft extending outwardly from the sidewall, a rotary bellows wheel carried by the shaft, and bellows carried by the rotary bellows wheel. The rotary bellows wheel and adjacent portions of the housing may define a porting arrangement for selectively connecting the bellows wheel to a fluid flow to selectively control internal fluid pressure for the bellows so that each bellows is movable/between, a retracted label pick-up position and an extended label-applying position.

Labeling apparatus with sidewall shaft and related methods

A labeling apparatus is for applying labels to articles advanced along an article conveyor. The labeling apparatus may include a frame to be positioned adjacent the article conveyor, and a labeler carried by the frame. The labeler may include a housing, a rotary bellows wheel carried by the housing, bellows carried by the rotary bellows wheel and a fluid pump within the housing and connected in fluid communication with the rotary bellows wheel to provide a fluid flow for the bellows so that each bellows is movable between a retracted position and an extended label-applying position.

Labeling apparatus with housing having fluid pump and related methods

A system for remotely monitoring the medical condition of a number of individual patients from a centralized location. The system includes a plurality of remote monitoring units that each include both a wireless transmission device and a conventional modem for communicating over voice telephone lines. The dual modes of transmission allow the remote monitoring unit to communicate either over a wireless communication network, if available or over conventional telephone wires. The remote monitoring unit includes a voice processing system that provides audio prompts and directions to the patient to direct the patient through the vital sign data gathering sequence. The audio prompts instruct the patient on the particular steps and timing for the vital sign data gathering sequence. Once the vital sign data has been acquired, the control unit of the remote monitoring unit determines whether a wireless transmission network is available. Based on the availability of the wireless communication network, the control unit of the remote monitoring unit selects either a wireless transmission or a conventional modem transmission method for the vital sign data. The vital sign data is compiled in a main data collection station that stores an displays the vital sign data for each patient being monitored. The vital sign data contained within the main data collection station is accessible by multiple workstations through conventional web-based communication techniques.
