An electric linear actuator has an electric motor, a speed reduction mechanism, and a ball screw mechanism to convert rotational motion of the electric motor to an axial linear motion of a drive shaft. The ball screw mechanism nut and screw shaft both include helical screw grooves with a large number of balls between them. The housing has a first housing portion and a second housing portion. The electric motor is mounted on the first housing portion. The second housing portion abuts an end face of the first housing portion. The first housing portion has a cylindrical gear containing portion to contain the speed reduction mechanism. An end part of the gear containing portion extends radially inward to form a bottom portion to cover the speed reduction mechanism. The bottom portion of the first housing portion and the second housing portion are formed, respectively, with abutment surfaces.

Electric linear actuator

An electric linear actuator has a housing, an electric motor, a speed reduction mechanism, and a ball screw mechanism. The ball screw mechanism has a nut and a screw shaft. Both include a helical screw groove. The nut is supported by rolling bearings mounted on the housing. The screw shaft is coaxially integrated with the drive shaft. The screw shaft is inserted into the nut, via a large number of balls. The housing has a first housing and a second housing. The electric motor is mounted on the first housing. The second housing abuts against an end face of the first housing. At least one of the first and second housings is formed with ribs. The ribs extend from each of securing portions to a containing portion that contains the screw shaft. The securing portions are arranged on the periphery of the housing to receive fastening bolts.

An electric linear actuator has a cylindrical housing, an electric motor, a speed reduction mechanism, and a ball screw mechanism. The ball screw mechanism has a nut and a screw shaft coaxially integrated with the drive shaft. The housing has receiving bores to receive the screw shaft. A cylindrical sleeve is securely press-fit into the receiving bore of the housing. The sleeve has one pair of axially extending recessed grooves formed on its inner circumference at diametrically opposed positions. A guide pin, mounted on the end of the screw shaft, engages the recessed grooves. An annular groove is formed near an opening of the receiving bore of the housing. The sleeve is held in the receiving bore by a stopper ring snapped into the annular groove.

Both have helical screw grooves. The screw shaft is inserted into the nut, via a large number of balls. A sleeve is secured on the housing to prevent rotation of the screw shaft relative to the housing. At least one axially extending recessed groove is formed on the inner circumference of the sleeve. At least one guide pin, mounted on the end of the screw shaft, engages the recessed groove. A tapering chamfered portion is formed on the end of the nut.
