A light source device of the present disclosure includes a light source, a wavelength conversion element having a fluorescent material that a light output from the light source enters and a supporting substrate that supports the fluorescent material, an optical element guiding the light output from the light source to the fluorescent material, a holding member holding the optical element, and a housing part providing a housing space in an optical path of the light output from the light source and housing at least the optical element and the holding member in the housing space, wherein the supporting substrate is fixed to the holding member, the holding member is fixed to the housing part, and an elastic member is provided between the supporting substrate and the holding member.

Light source device and projector

A dimmer includes a pair of pivoting sections provided across an optical axis of a light beam and having pivot axes and a pair of light blocking sections held by the pair of pivoting sections and configured to pivot following pivoting of the pivoting sections to block the light beam. In a maximum light blocking state, positions in the optical axis direction of opposed ends on the optical axis side of the pair of light blocking sections are different from each other. In the maximum light blocking state, the opposed ends on the optical axis side of the pair of light blocking sections are arranged to overlap each other in a direction along the optical axis.

Dimmer and projector

A projector includes a first light source section a second light source section, a light combining section adapted to combine the first light beam and the second light beam, an adjustment device adapted to adjust a light path of the first light beam and a light path of the second light beam, respectively, in two steps, an homogenizing optical system adapted to equalize the first light beam and the second light beam processed by the light combining section, a light modulation section adapted to modulate the light beam from the homogenizing optical system in accordance with image information, and a projection optical system adapted to project an image beam processed by the light modulation section.

Projector

An illumination apparatus includes: first and second lamps; and a combining mirror configured to combine emitted lights from the first and second lamps The combining mirror includes first and second reflection surfaces opposing the first and second lamps respectively, being abutted vertically with respect to each other, whereby forming an edge. Since optical axes of the first and second lamp are respectively inclined with respect to a reference axis being orthogonal to a system optical axis of the illumination apparatus, central axes of the lights from the first and second lamps are incident on a downstream optical system in a state of being slightly inclined with respect to the system optical axis after being reflected on the first and second reflection surfaces respectively.

Illumination apparatus and projector having the same

A projector can form images of illumination system on respective optical paths at positions of corresponding liquid crystal display panels with respect to a light emission surface of a cross dichroic prism without relatively inverting the images and without increasing the number of lenses from the number of lenses included in a relay optical path structure in related art. Moreover, the projector can equalize the magnification of the images formed on the respective liquid crystal display panels by controlling relative image-forming conditions of the first and second optical paths in advance. Thus, deterioration of white balance and color unevenness of light projected by the projector can be reduced even when light emission distribution of a light source varies with elapse of time, for example.

A projector includes a lighting device having two light source devices each having an ellipsoidal reflector disposed such that the ellipsoidal reflectors face each other, a reflection system that reflects illumination lights emitted from the two light source devices substantially in the same direction, an electro-optic modulating device that modulates the light released from the lighting device according to image information; and a projection system that projects light modulated by the electro-optic modulating device. The two light source devices are disposed such that the respective light source optical axes of the two light source devices are substantially perpendicular to the projection optical axis of the projection system. The reflection system is constructed such that the center axes of the respective illumination lights emitted from the two light source devices and entering a converging lens are inclined toward the illumination optical axis of the lighting device by a predetermined angle.
