According to an aspect, an information display device includes a display unit, a visual line detector, and a control unit. The display unit displays information in a scroll region, which is provided in at least a part of a screen of the display unit, while scrolling the information. The visual line detector detects a visual line position of an operator with respect to the scroll region. The control unit controls a scroll speed, at which the information is scrolled in the scroll region, based on the visual line position detected by the visual line detector.

An object of the present invention is to provide an electronic device capable of continuing a telephone call, even in a case in which power is received from a battery charger while the telephone call is made. The electronic device includes a power receiving unit and a speaker unit. The power receiving unit receives power from the battery charger by electromagnetic waves. The speaker unit outputs sound in a first mode or a second mode. The first mode is a sound output mode when the electronic device is made proximate to a user's ear. The second mode is a sound output mode when the electronic device is separated from the user's ear. In a case in which the power receiving unit is receiving power, the speaker unit outputs sound in the second mode.

A communication device includes a microphone, communication unit, storage unit, extraction unit, and display control unit. The microphone converts the sound inputted into audio data, and then outputs the audio data. The communication unit receives audio data from an external communication device capable of communication. Communication device and display system

A portable electronic apparatus capable of reliably determining whether a load detected by detecting units is caused by water pressure or by some other pressure and performing predetermined control according to the determination. A portable telephone apparatus is provided with operation detecting units and a control unit. The operation detecting units are detecting units for detecting pressure caused by a pressing operation. When a pressure is detected by at least one of the operation detecting units, the control unit performs first control (for example, control caused by detection of pressure other than water pressure). When even pressures are simultaneously detected by the operation detecting units, the control unit performs second control (for example, control caused by detection of water pressure) different from the first control.

A character processing apparatus provides improved layout and formatting. In a preferred embodiment, the character processing apparatus includes a character data memory for storing a plurality of groups of character data, a first format data memory for storing a plurality of format data each having a correspondence with a different one of the groups of character data and a second format data memory for storing a plurality of format data having no correspondence with character data. The apparatus designates either one of (a) the groups of character data stored in the character data memory and (b) the plurality of format data stored in the first format data memory, and further designates one of the plurality of format data stored in the second format data memory.

The contour line pattern is eliminated from the painted pattern by the narrowing circuit. The contour line correcting circuit has a converter to convert the contour line pattern in correspondence to the drawing direction of the contour line pattern and obtains the exclusive-OR combination of the converted contour line pattern and the painted pattern. This apparatus can prevent a small blank region in an image being painted over and can effect a feature of a contour line.

A pattern conversion method and apparatus including a storage unit for storing data representative of the contour of a pattern, a readout unit for reading the data from the storing unit; and a processing unit for processing the data read from the storage unit and representative of the contour of the pattern, wherein the processing by the processing unit comprises the steps of: parallel moving each of a plurality of segments constituting the contour of the pattern by the same distance d; solving for an intersection between the moved segments; and repeating the steps for the entire contour of the pattern.

Method and system of converting delineative pattern

There is an image processing system which inputs and edits image data including document data and prints and displays a document with figures with a beautiful style. This system comprises: an output device which can output the image data including document data; a parameter adding device to add output parameters to edit the image data outputted by the output device; and an edition control unit which can edit, as a headline, at least a part of the image data outputted by the output device on the basis of the parameters added by the parameter adding device. These parameters include data such as position, size, character style, and the like of the headline. With this system, arbitrary information such as headline, catchword, line number, page number, caption, or the like can be extremely easily arranged at any position of the image data displayed on the CRT and the document with such information can be printed as a beautiful style. Also, the document and figure data can be freely edited.
