A mold for insert molding, which houses an electronic unit including a first circuit portion and a second circuit portion protruding from the first circuit portion, is prepared. The mold includes an upper wall surface facing an upper surface of the second circuit portion and side wall surfaces facing side surfaces of the second circuit portion. The flow resistance of a resin flowing through a space between each side surface of the second circuit portion and the corresponding side wall surface is lower than that of the resin flowing through a space between the upper surface of the second circuit portion and the upper wall surface. Then, the electronic unit is placed in the mold. Then, the resin is injected into the mold in which the electronic unit has been placed. Thus, the electronic unit and the housing in which the electronic unit is housed are integrated with each other.

Method of manufacturing housing structure and housing structure

A torque detecting apparatus includes an annular magnetic flux collecting ring, a magnetic flux collecting holder surrounding and holding the magnetic flux collecting ring, and a magnetic shield including a circumferential end and attached to the outer periphery of the magnetic flux collecting holder. The magnetic flux collecting holder includes a housing portion that houses in its inner space the circumferential end of the magnetic shield. The housing portion includes an outer wall radially inwardly facing an outer peripheral surface of the circumferential end of the magnetic shield such that a first clearance is provided between the housing portion and the outer peripheral surface of the circumferential end of the magnetic shield.

Torque detecting apparatus and method for manufacturing the same

A torque detection apparatus includes a magnetic element that outputs a signal corresponding to a magnetic flux from a magnetic circuit including a magnetic yoke. The torque detection apparatus further includes a signal retrieval member electrically connected to the magnetic element, and a unit housing formed of resin and molded integrally with the magnetic element and the signal retrieval member so as to cover the magnetic element and the signal retrieval member. The unit housing includes a body portion provided with an internal space in which the magnetic yoke is housed, and a connector portion provided with an internal space in which an end of the signal retrieval member exposed from the resin is disposed. In the unit housing, a communication path is formed through which the internal space is in communication with the internal space.

Torque detection apparatus

A torque sensor includes a first magnet fixed to a first shaft, a tubular magnetic yoke assembly in which a magnetic yoke core is molded with a resin member, and a first magnetic sensor that detects a magnetic flux from the first magnet induced by the magnetic yoke core. The torque sensor also includes a collar made of a ferromagnetic body that is fixed to an inner circumference of the magnetic yoke assembly and to which a second shaft is press-fitted and fixed, and a second magnet for an index sensor that is disposed on an outer circumference of the magnetic yoke assembly. At least a part of the collar is disposed between the magnetic yoke core and the second magnet with respect to an axial direction of the magnetic yoke assembly.

Torque sensor and electric power steering system

An on-vehicle detector includes a torque detecting portion for magnetically detecting a torque transmitted to a rotating shaft rotated by steering operation, and a rotation detecting portion for magnetically detecting a rotation of the rotating shaft. The rotation detecting portion includes a magnet with a pair of magnetic poles and a magnetic detection element, the magnet being disposed on a side of the rotating shaft so as to rotate simultaneously with the rotating shaft and the magnetic detection element being disposed on a side of the rotating shaft to detect a change in magnetic flux density caused by the magnet approaching or moving away in accordance with the rotation of the rotating shaft. The magnet is disposed such that the pair of magnetic poles is aligned along a circumferential direction of the rotating shaft.

On-vehicle detector

A waterproof structure for an electronic unit includes a sub-case that defines an accommodating portion that accommodates a first terminal, and has a cable guiding hole that communicates with the accommodating portion. A potting resin filled in the accommodating portion is also filled in a space between a cable and the cable guiding hole. The cable includes a first sheath that covers a conductor and is made of a first resin material, and a second sheath that covers the first sheath. The second sheath and the potting resin are made of a second resin material that is different from the first resin material.

Waterproof structure for electronic unit

A torque detecting device includes a permanent magnet; a first magnetic yoke; a second magnetic yoke; two magnetic elements; a terminal; a case; and an external housing. The two magnetic elements are electrically connected to the terminal. The case accommodates the two magnetic elements and the terminal. The external housing accommodates the permanent magnet, the first magnetic yoke, and the second magnetic yoke, covers an outer side surface of the case, and is formed integrally with the case.
