An electric deviceis an organic positive thermistor in which, between two plate electrodesandconstituting an electrode couple, a conductive memberis disposed in a state being in a close contact with the plate electrodesand. The conductive memberis formed of many piled up resin particles each having its surface formed with a conductive layer of a residual material (fullerene residual), which is the soot including fullerenes generated via, for example, an arc discharging method, from which at least a part of fullerenes is removed. Such conductive layers are joined to each other to structure the conductive path and the conduction of the electric deviceis ensured in a normal state. When an inrush current flows, the conductive path is readily shut off by a small inflation of the resin particles due to the temperature rise.

Humidity sensor and method for manufacturing the same

A humidity sensor includes a pair of interdigital electrodes disposed on an insulating substrate and defining a gap therebetween, an undercoat layer of silane compound lying on the gap-defining electrodes and substrate, and a humidity sensitive thin film lying thereon. The humidity sensitive thin film is formed of a crosslinked product of a conductive polymer having ethylenically unsaturated groups, and physically bound to the undercoat layer through an interpenetrating polymer network. The sensor is fully resistant to water so that it ensures stable operation over a long time even in a dew condensing atmosphere. The sensor is free of hysteresis and able to measure humidity over a very wide range.

The cyanine dyes of the invention are well soluble in solvents having a high evaporation rate and stable against light, and thus effective for improving productivity and realizing optical recording media, especially CD-R and DVD-R optical discs, having improved light resistance. The invention provides an optical recording medium comprising at least two recording layers containing a dye. At least two layers of the recording layers have different optical constants, and at least one among these recording layers having different optical constants contains a dye which forms a thin film having an absorption spectrum whose half-value width is up to 170 nm. This construction permits the medium to be written and read in a conventional wavelength range of about 780 nm and a shorter wavelength range of about 630-680 nm.

A printable member comprising a substrate and a surface layer thereon is provided. The surface layer is a radiation cured coating comprising a compound having a quaternary ammonium salt group having three alkyl groups and a compound having a carboxyl group.
