A charger cradle used for charging a battery of a portable electrical device. An electromagnetic device is disposed within the charger cradle proximate a metal piece of the cordless handset when the cordless handset is placed in a receiving portion of the charger cradle. The electromagnetic device generates a magnetic field when charge contacts of the charger cradle and the cordless handset are in contact and a charging current is conducted from a charging circuit of the charger cradle. The magnetic field attracts the metal piece of the cordless handset and securely holds the cordless handset into the receiving portion while the charging circuit charges the battery of the cordless handset.

Magnetic holder for rechargeable devices

A charging unit including a charge contact and a spring in contact with the charge contact for charging a rechargeable device. The charge contact slidably engages with a charging surface of the rechargeable device and a spring connected to the charge contact applies a force to the charging surface as the charging unit receives the rechargeable device.

Charging apparatus with self cleaning charge and discharge zone

An electrical component is mounted on a carrier printed circuit board. A first header connector connects the carrier printed circuit board to a printed circuit board on one side of the electrical component. A second header connector connects the carrier printed circuit board to the printed circuit board on the opposite side of the electrical component. The carrier printed circuit board and the printed circuit board are connected so that the electrical component is sandwiched between the carrier printed circuit board and the printed circuit board. The carrier printed circuit board, the first header connector, and the second header connector protect the electrical component from impact and mechanical stress. The carrier printed circuit board redistributes the electrical connection of the electrical component.

Systems and methods for protecting an electrical component from impact or repeated mechanical stress

A method uses a rack and gear system for retracting an antenna when a wireless device is opened. Particularly, sliding a cover to open the device moves first and second sliding racks attached on opposite sides of the sliding cover. The racks drive a first gear and a second gear, respectively. The first gear drives an antenna rack. An antenna is attached to the antenna rack, such that driving an antenna rack extends or retracts the cover.
