Cleaning implements provide effective cleaning of hard surfaces by delivering a spray of cleaning composition onto a surface to be cleaned in an area generally definable by a trapezoid relative to the leading edge of said implement. Implements such as those used to clean floors can be provided with disposable scrubbing pads which absorb the composition during the cleaning operation. A separate rinse step is not required.

A detergent composition for use with a disposable cleaning pad preferably comprising an effective amount of a superabsorbent material, said pad preferably being part of a cleaning implement comprising a handle and said cleaning pad preferably being removable. The detergent composition contains a disappearing dye and, preferably, limited amount of detergent surfactant, preferably linear in structure and relatively hydrophilic, the level of hydrophobic materials preferably being kept below about 3%, and the pH preferably being above about 9, to allow the superabsorbent material to be readily absorbed by superabsorbent material. The process of using the detergent composition with such a cleaning pad, and the provision of a kit containing both detergent composition and cleaning pad are disclosed.

Implement containing cleaning composition and disappearing dye

The cleaning implement has a handle a mop head attached to the handle and the mop head comprises a plurality of attachment structures formed from a flexible material. The cleaning implement also comprises a liquid delivery system having a container filled with a cleaning solution, fitment which has a fluid transfer check valve communicating with a nozzle and a vent valve. The vent valve has a cracking pressure such that venting occurs in the container when the pressure differential defined by P &minus;P is superior to the cracking pressure, where P is the atmospheric pressure and P is the pressure inside said container. The cleaning implement also includes a disposable cleaning pad which has an absorbent layer and an attachment layer. The attachment layer has at least one notch located on the leading edge of the attachment layer such that the cleaning solution is dispensed from the nozzle without being obstructed by the attachment layer.

The present invention relates to a hard surface detergent composition containing a soil entrainment system. The composition can be used with conventional implements known in the art, including sponges, cloths and/or sponge, string, and/or strip mops and floor cloths such as those sold at retail and specialty stores. In a most preferred embodiment, the solution is used with a cleaning pad comprising an effective amount of a superabsorbent material, said pad preferably being part of a cleaning implement comprising a handle and said cleaning pad preferably being removable. The process of using the detergent composition with such a cleaning pad, and the provision of a kit containing both detergent composition and cleaning pad are disclosed.

Detergent composition comprising a soil entrainment system

The present invention relates to detergent compositions comprising anionic mid-branched surfactant compounds and additional anionic sulfate and sulfonate surfactants. The compositions are particularly useful as solid laundry detergent compositions.

Surfactant system mixtures of mid-chain branched primary alkyl sulfate surfactants useful in cleaning compositions, especially for lower water temperature applications, formulated with higher levels (above about 20%) of linear alkyl benzene sulfonate and low levels of cationic surfactants.

A detergent composition, having a selected surfactant system for improved performance, especially under high water hardness and low temperature wash water conditions is disclosed. The detergent composition includes a mid-chain branched primary alkyl sulfate surfactant in combination with a linear alkylbenzene sulfonate surfactant, and linear alkyl sulfate surfactant at optimally selected relative proportions. Additionally, the detergent composition contains up to about 5% of an alkyl ethoxylated sulfate surfactant and up to about 5% of a nonionic surfactant while unexpectedly having improved performance with such relatively low levels of a nonionic surfactant.
