A mower deck insert includes a first cutting chamber, a second cutting chamber, and a discharge passage extending adjacent to the first cutting chamber and the second cutting chamber. The first cutting chamber includes a first axial scroll extending about a first vertical axis. The first axial scroll includes a first upper surface having a first start region and a first end region. The second cutting chamber includes a second axial scroll extending about a second vertical axis. The second axial scroll includes a second upper surface having a second start region and a second end region. The first start region is vertically lower than the first end region, and the second start region is vertically lower than the second end region.

A blower housing for use with an engine. The blower housing is adapted to receive a stream of intake air, and the engine includes at least one cylinder. The blower housing includes an intake opening, an air filter housed within a filter compartment, and an air flow duct adjacent to the filter compartment. The air flow duct is configured to direct air to the at least one cylinder. The air flow duct includes a first surface and a second surface, the first surface being angled with respect to the second surface to deflect the air passing through the duct away from the first surface toward the second surface. The first surface separates the air into a first portion and a second portion having deflected particulate matter therein. The duct also has an aperture that allows air to flow from the duct to the air filter, and an exhaust window.

Blower housing for internal combustion engine

The engine housing for a small internal combustion engine lessens exhaust emissions by reducing cylinder bore distortion during manufacture and during use. Cylinder bore distortion is reduced by providing reinforcing material in two opposed wall sections for a relatively small length of the total cylinder length. This uppermost cylinder wall portion also includes bolt bosses for receiving the cylinder head bolts. The cylinder is divided into successive cylinder wall portions along its length, with the thicknesses of the cylinder walls decreasing in each wall portion away from the cylinder head. Cylinder bore distortion is also lessened by using concentric air vanes instead of the asymmetrically-shaped vanes typical of prior art engine housings.
