Disclosed is a method of gathering data from a wireless data device that is not connected to the internet using a mobile device like a phone, laptop, or tablet. The wireless data device signals an device monitoring application on the smartphone to connect. The device monitoring application and the wireless data device trade passwords to establish a secure wireless connection. The data is sent from the wireless data device to the smartphone and stored in memory. The device monitoring application connects wirelessly to the internet through a cell tower. If cell service is not available, the device monitoring application waits till cell service is available to connect to the internet. The device monitoring application on the smartphone establishes a secure connection to a server located on the internet and sends the data to an device monitoring application executing on the server.

The method comprises receiving an authentication request from a third party, where the authentication request designates a level of authentication and comprises a telephone number of a mobile communication device to be authenticated, looking up identifying information based on the telephone number received in the authentication request, transmitting an authentication challenge to an authenticator client application on the mobile communication device associated with the looked up identifying information, where the authentication challenge is based on the level of authentication designated in the authentication request received from the third party, receiving a response to the authentication challenge from the authenticator client application, evaluating the response to the authentication challenge, and transmitting an authentication result based on the evaluation of the response to the authentication challenge to the third party that sent the authentication request.

In response to the event information matching at least one trigger signature, selects a phone number associated with the category of customer service, presents the phone number via an embedded API, and calls a group associated with the category by invoking an embedded API of a dialer, wherein the log is transmitted to the group.

Mobile communication device self-service client

A process and corresponding system for encoding and decoding digital data in analog signals is disclosed. Digital data values are represented by concurrent combinations of distinct audio tones, which combine to create chords. The chords have multiple identifiable parameters that can be modulated to represent the data values. For instance, the modulated chords can include a concurrent combination of distinct tones that each have a different frequency and a different starting time. The frequencies of the tones and the starting times of those tones can be modulated to create unique combinations that represent respective data values. As such, analog audio content of a given chord can be used to represent a particular data value and the analog audio signals can be transmitted between nodes in a communication network in order to communicate that data value.

One embodiment of the inventions includes receiving an indication of an update event associated with a first set of contacts on a first mobile device, updating a remotely-stored copy of the first set of contacts, determining that a remotely-stored copy of a second set of contacts does not include a portion of contact information corresponding to the first mobile device, and updating the remotely-stored copy of the second set of contacts. In an embodiment, the remotely-stored copy of the second set of contacts is synchronized with the second set of contacts, thereby updating the second set of contacts.
