A battery monitoring system monitors status of a battery in an implantable medical device by comparing a measured battery status trend to a calculated battery status trend. The measured battery status trend is a trend of measured parameter values each indicative of an actual state of depletion of the battery. The calculated battery status trend is a trend of calculated parameter values each indicative of an expected state of depletion of the battery.

Method and apparatus for monitoring battery status of implantable medical device

A system and method for providing enhanced weight alert notification during automated patient management is presented. A plurality of weight measurements in an automated patient environment from a weight monitoring device for a patient during an observation period is remotely obtained. A raw baseline weight for the patient is determined based on a function of the weight measurements. Irregularities in the weight measurements are identified. The raw baseline weight is processed into a baseline weight by application of a correction coefficient to the irregularities. Weight remotely measured in the automated patient environment for the patient on a substantially regular basis is obtained. Changes in the weight are identified by periodic comparison to the baseline weight. An alert notification is generated in response to the change in weight.

Methods and systems are directed to delivering cardiac pacing therapy to a patient. A pacing therapy associated with one or more pacing parameters is delivered. Alternate cardiac pacing therapies associated with one or more alternate pacing parameters are transitioned to, based on a sleep/wake cycle of the patient. Interactions between the pacing parameters of the pacing therapy and the alternate pacing parameters are resolved. Resolving pacing parameters may be based on analysis of lower rate limits and/or lower rate hysteresis, for example.

Methods and devices for implementing time of day pacing adjustments

Methods and systems are directed to delivering cardiac pacing therapy to a patient. A pacing therapy associated with one or more pacing parameters is delivered. A system and method monitors or reports the battery status of an implantable medical device to a user. The battery terminal voltage and charge delivered are measured. Before the battery terminal voltage falls below an Elective Replacement Indicator (ERI) threshold voltage, a charge-delivered indication of battery status is provided to a user. Thereafter, a battery terminal voltage indication of battery status is provided to a user. The Elective Replacement Indicator (ERI) and End of Life (EOL) threshold voltages are each functions of delivered battery current. A fault current detection is also provided to a user. A device temperature sensor discounts the battery voltage reading when the device is too cold.
