A lever assembly is disclosed which is formed from a one piece, longitudinally oriented, hollow metal tubular member integrally formed with a first end, a second end, and a central section in between. A clevis is integrally formed in the first end. The clevis portion has a pair of spaced apart walls and an integral projection extending from each of the spaced apart walls. Additionally, the assembly has an integrally formed foot engaging portion extending from the second end.

Injection molded bumpers for off-road recreational and utility vehicles such as ATV's, snowmobiles and the like. In one embodiment, the invention provides an injection molded bumper comprising a fiber-filled plastic resin body. Optionally, the fiber-filled plastic resin may have fibers of a length of at least about &frac14; inch. The body has an overall thickness substantially less than its width and length, and includes a generally vertically oriented front surface having upper and lower peripheral edges. At least a portion of the upper peripheral edge and at least a portion of the lower peripheral edge each has a flange extending generally horizontally away from the front surface. The flanges have thicknesses substantially less than the lengths they extend from the front surface and thereby define generally horizontally extending reinforcing ribs. Additional reinforcing ribs may also be provided intermediate the flanges.

Injection molded components for off-road recreational and utility vehicles such as ATV's and snowmobiles. In one embodiment, the invention provides a rack having a fiber-filled plastic resin body. The body has an overall thickness substantially less than its width and length, and includes a generally flat, horizontal top having a plurality of slots. Each of the slots is defined by a flange extending downwardly the flange having a thickness that is substantially less than its height to define a downwardly extending reinforcing rib, which also provides a point of attachment for straps such as bungee cords. Preferably the rack includes integrally molded transverse reinforcing ribs extending across the slots, the reinforcing ribs having a top surface which is recessed downwardly from the top surface of the rack. In another embodiment, the invention provides an injection molded foot rest for an off-road recreational or utility vehicle. The foot rest is similarly made from a fiber-filled plastic resin body having a nominal thickness of less than about &frac14; inch. In another embodiment, the invention provides a bumper similarly made from such fiber-filled plastic resin.

A heat exchanger having a core of a plurality of cooling tubes with a tank at each end of the core tubes. The tanks are formed with a plurality of cooling tube receiving apertures along a side portion of the tanks. These apertures receive the ends of the cooling tubes directly into the tanks and are attached to the tubes by brazing. Since the cooling tubes are received in apertures formed in the tanks themselves, the need for a separate head sheet at the end of the core is eliminated thereby eliminating the need for sealing of a head sheet to a separate tank. The tanks are preferably formed in a hydroforming operation to shape the tanks from a tubular blank.

A seal for the articulating ball joint of a vehicle exhaust system to prevent exhaust leakage. Vehicle exhaust systems include several connected sections to direct exhaust from the engine through the catalytic converter and out the tail pipe. At least one articulating ball joint is included to compensate for vibrational movement between the engine and the exhaust system. The joint seal of the present invention incorporate a bi-metal body with a first end secured to a portion of the clamp assembly and a second end which seals the gap between the members of the ball joint to prevent exhaust leakage therebetween.
