There is disclosed an aerosol delivery system comprising: an aerosol-generating device () comprising: —a device housing having an open-ended heating chamber configured to receive a carrier cartridge (); —a heater element () disposed within the heating chamber () and configured to receive at least a first end of a carrier cartridge (), said heating element operable to heat a carrier substrate of a carrier unit of said carrier cartridge () to cause release of an aerosol-forming precursor therefrom to generate an aerosol when gas is passed through the carrier cartridge (); and—a carrier cartridge comprising a carrier unit (), said carrier unit comprising a carrier substrate configured to hold an aerosol-forming precursor comprising a nicotine-containing and/or flavoured fluid, gel, wax, or powder. Also disclosed are a carrier cartridge (), carrier unit (), methods of manufacturing one or more components of said system, and a kit-of-parts for assembling the system.

The present invention relates to an inhaler comprising: an assembly including a heater element arranged in the inhaler to be proximal to a substrate region configured for supporting a vapour or atomiser precursor substrate; wherein the assembly is configured such that the heater element is operative to achieve and maintain a target temperature in the substrate region throughout a period corresponding to a plurality of consecutive uses of the inhaler.

The present invention solves some of the problems of the prior art by providing a method, system and apparatus for readily refilling the reservoir of a smoking-substitute device with liquid from a dispenser. The method, system and apparatus of the present invention prevents liquid from being dispensed until the dispenser is securely and sealably engaged to the smoking-substitute device, provides independent liquid and gas pathways between the dispenser and reservoir, and substantially alleviates the problems of spillage and/or leakage when dispensing liquid from the dispenser into the reservoir of the smoking-substitute device.

The present invention relates to a dispenser for dispensing a liquid, comprising: a reservoir for storing a liquid to be dispensed; a manually operative pump arrangement disposed at a first end region of the reservoir; a conduit extending from the pump arrangement to a second end region of the reservoir distal the first end region, the conduit configured for communicating reservoir contents from the second end region to the pump arrangement; a dispense conduit extending from the pump arrangement and comprising a dispense aperture at an end region thereof, the dispense aperture in liquid communication with the pump arrangement; and an open ended tube extending in a direction away from the pump arrangement and configured to surround the dispense conduit, wherein the open ended tube extends to a position such that the open end thereof is at least coterminous with an dispense aperture end of the dispense conduit and actuation of the pump arrangement causes transfer of reservoir contents from the reservoir to the dispense aperture end of the dispense conduit.

The present invention relates to a system and assembly for refilling a reservoir with liquid dispensed from a dispenser, in particular, but not exclusively, to a system and assembly for the substantially leak-free refilling of the reservoir of a smoking-substitute device with a liquid comprising nicotine from a refill dispenser. The assembly is configured to provide a gas communication pathway through the assembly and physically separate from the liquid communication pathway for venting gas from an end of the assembly proximal the first aperture to an exterior of the assembly responsive to the movement of the assembly to the secured and open configuration, the assembly configured to close the gas communication pathway in the unsecured and closed configuration.

A filling system for an electronic cigarette () is disclosed in which a nozzle () of a liquid dispenser () contains a plunger () which is biased by a spring () into a closed position in which liquid is prevented from flowing through the nozzle (). In use the nozzle () is inserted into an open end () of a liquid reservoir () for an electronic cigarette containing an air tube (). The plunger () engages with the end of the air tube () blocking the air tube () and opening the liquid flow path through the nozzle (). The arrangement of the plunger () and nozzle () is such that operation of the plunger () only occurs when the nozzle () engaged within a liquid reservoir (). A membrane () can be provided to prevent leakage from the liquid reservoir () when the nozzle () is disengaged.
