A device disposed on a subject to maintain the subject within a containment zone and track the subject if the subject exits the containment zone. The device includes a positioning unit for generating position data including satellite positioning data. There is a processor unit to determine from the position data if the subject is inside or outside of the containment zone. The processor unit operates in a containment mode when the subject is inside the containment zone and in a tracking mode when the subject exits the containment zone. A correction unit issues a stimulus when the subject exits the containment zone and terminates the stimulus when the processor unit enters the tracking mode from the containment mode. There is a communication unit which transmits an alert to an electronic device of an operator when the processor unit transitions from the containment to tracking mode.

A weapon mountable aiming system has a multi-laser assembly having a first visible laser pointer assembly, a second infrared laser pointer assembly, and an infrared laser illuminator assembly whose generated light beams extend outwardly through an opening in an actuator used to adjust the divergence of the infrared laser illuminator assembly. The multi-laser assembly being steerable by a set of adjusters in the weapon mountable aiming system to allow alignment of the generated light beams with a point of impact of a bullet with a target.

An attachment system is provided for attaching an auxiliary apparatus to a weapon having a frame, and in particular to a weapon frame in the area forward of the trigger guard. An attachment mechanism on the auxiliary apparatus is adapted to be engageable with a rail on the weapon to selectively attach the auxiliary apparatus. The weapon may include a transverse slot which can be engaged by a portion of the auxiliary apparatus to prevent the auxiliary apparatus from sliding relative to the weapon due to recoil forces associated with firing the weapon.

There is disclosed a multi-channel panoramic night vision goggle (PNVG) system having two monocular subassemblies, each having a first channel and a second channel, each channel having an optical axis. A mounting structure, having a right and a left side, and having two angled mounting shoes may be used to mount the monocular subassemblies. The angled mounting shoes permit a single monocular subassembly to be attached to either side of the mounting structure, yet permit an optical axis of one of the first or second channels to be substantially coaxial with a user's optical axis and permits the other of the first and second channels to be at an angle not coaxial or parallel with the user's optical axis. In addition a hot shoe connector enables selective and repeatable attachment of the monocular subassembly to the angled mounting shoe, without the use of solder to complete the electrical contact.

An illumination device includes a housing and a multi-position switch for selecting various modes of operation. A security block is mounted to the housing adjacent the switch. The security block may be attached to the housing in at least two different orientations. In a first orientation, the security block prevents the switch from being in a position corresponding to certain modes (e.g., those which create a high intensity light beam). When positioned in a second orientation, the security block is attached to the housing but permits the switch to be in other or all positions, thereby permitting various modes of operation.

A clamping mechanism is provided for attaching an auxiliary apparatus to a weapon having a frame. The clamping mechanism has projections which are biased by a flexible member toward corresponding recessed portions formed in the frame of the weapon. A retaining member is also provided which may be moved between an open and a closed position. In the closed position, the flexibility of the flexible member is minimized, such that the projections of the clamping mechanism are locked against the corresponding recessed portions of the weapon. In the open position, the flexible member may bend away from the weapon thereby disengaging the projections of the clamping mechanism from the recessed portions of the weapon. A battery housing is also provided for receiving a battery casing which holds one or more batteries. The batteries are provided for energizing the auxiliary apparatus. The battery housing has a cavity formed therein. A recessed portion is provided in the surface of the cavity for receiving a projection formed in the battery casing. A spring member is provided for biasing the projection of the battery casing toward the recessed portion of the cavity to maintain the battery housing in a closed position.

Aiming assistance device for a weapon

A novel aiming light assembly and mounting bracket therefor is disclosed. The bracket has a first portion which clamps to the barrel of a weapon, a second portion including a cut-out which fits over and abuts against the front sight post of the weapon, and a third portion on which the aiming light assembly is mounted. A novel switching assembly and the combination of integral and remote switching is provided. An improved steering mechanism is provided to facilitate boresighting of the aiming light assembly once mounted on weapon.

Aiming light and mounting assembly therefor

An automated boresighting device and method for an aiming light assembly. The device comprises a housing attached to the weapon, aiming means enclosed in the housing for generating a beam in a direction whereby an operator may aim the weapon at a target, range determination means enclosed in the housing for determining the range from the weapon to the target, ballistic trajectory data enclosed in the housing for use in calculating device elevation angle as a function of range, and automatic adjusting means for automatically adjusting the aiming means responsive to computed elevation determined by the range determination means. The adjusting means includes a computer and the servo assembly. The computer may use the range determination information and ballistic trajectory information determined by a ballistic trajectory means to determine an elevation angle adjustment necessary for a given range. A servo assembly automatically adjusts the transmitter in response to the computed angle.
