A method is provided for mounting a plurality of radar units to a vehicle. The method involves determining, for each radar unit, a measured pitch direction and a measured yaw direction based on data obtained using a photogrammetry system. The method also involves determining yaw angles between at least two of the radar units based on at least one of the measured yaw directions. The method also involves determining, for each radar unit, a pitch offset and a yaw offset. The method also involves adjusting at least one of the radar units based on at least one of the determined pitch offsets and at least one of the determined yaw offsets. Also provided is a device for performing the method.

Aspects of the disclosure relate generally to keyboards for computing devices. For example, rather than using a dome, the keycap may include one or more magnets. In one example, a second magnet may be placed adjacent to a switch or magnetic sensor on a circuit board. The magnets may be arranged so that they repel one another in order to force the keycap away from the switch. Webbing between the keycaps may be used to keep the keycaps from falling off of the device. To keep the keycap from moving laterally, the keycap may include two or more flanges held in place by rails. Other arrangements of magnets or magnetic plates may also be used. If a magnetic sensor is used, it may be calibrated to adjust the sensitivity of the keys, for example, how far a user must press the keycap in order to have the pressing register.

A portable computer that has a motorized hinge structure capable of moving the lid between an open and closed position. The movement of the lid is based on input from a plurality of sensors. One sensor may be configured to determine whether the user is within a predetermined threshold distance. Another sensor may be capable of detecting whether the user has made direct contact with the laptop. In one embodiment, the computer may have an image sensor configured to detect the user's face and continuously adjust the angle and position of the lid to keep the face in the field of view of the camera and/or keep the lid in the optimum viewing position.

A system for porting a speaker through a keyboard module and a backlight module is provided. The system includes an enclosure, the enclosure configured to mount the keyboard module, the backlight module, and the speaker thereto, wherein the speaker is disposed under a portion of the keyboard module and the backlight module. The system also includes a port path for porting the speaker through the keyboard module and the backlight module, the port path extending from the speaker to an outer surface of the keyboard module, wherein a first portion of the port path includes a passage in the enclosure, the passage disposed adjacent to an edge of the keyboard module and the backlight module, and wherein a second portion of the port path includes a periphery of a key of the keyboard module.

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to an apparatus providing a first component having a circular opening with an interior chamfered edge and a second component positioned within the circular opening. The apparatus also provides a magnetic feature at a circular bottom surface of the first component, where the magnetic feature provides a magnetic pull force in a first direction to secure the second component within the circular opening. The second component is configured to break away from the circular opening when a contact force to the breakaway component causes a force in a second direction opposite of the first direction and greater than the magnetic pull force.

A computer includes a lid defining a lower edge. A hinge is connected to the lid along the lower edge. The computer further includes a base having an upper surface and a keyboard disposed on the upper surface and defining a back edge. A mounting assembly is connected with the base between the back edge and the keyboard. The mounting assembly has an attachment feature that moves along a translational path in a direction between the back edge and the keyboard in a manner that is constrained to rotation thereof. The hinge is rotatably connected to the lid to be rotatable with respect to the base. The hinge is rotatably affixed with the attachment feature such that rotation of the lid drives rotation of the attachment feature, which drives the movement of the attachment feature along the translational path, moving the lower edge of the therewith.

An integrated port for connecting a device with an accessory having a plug is provided. An opening in the device may provide access to a recess of the port for receiving one or more connectors of the plug. The recess may include one or more terminals for electrically coupling with one or more connectors of the plug in a first mode of operation. The recess may also include a switch, which may be activated to change the operational state of the device from the first mode of operation into a second mode of operation that is not intended for general use. The switch may be provided such that insertion of the plug into the recess via the opening electrically couples the one or more terminals of the port with the one or more connectors of the plug without activating the switch.

In accordance with aspects of the disclosure, a system and methods for thermal management of at least one processor positioned within a computing device include drawing external fluid into an enclosure of the computing device via an inlet aperture with use of at least one active pump positioned within the enclosure, directing the drawn fluid from the inlet aperture through an inlet channel formed within the enclosure to the active pump, passing the drawn fluid over the processor positioned within the enclosure by directing the drawn fluid from the active pump through an outlet channel formed within the enclosure, and expelling the drawn fluid from the enclosure of the computing device via an outlet aperture with use of the active pump after passing the drawn fluid over the processor so as to provide thermal management of the processor.

Apparatus and methods for thermal management of a computing device

Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for stabilizing a computing device having a touch screen display on a flat surface. This helps prevent the device from being inadvertently moved, tipped over or otherwise displaced by a user when the display screen is tapped. By using a fan or a type of air pump to evacuate air from underneath a bottom surface of the device, a low-pressure region can be created that effectively pins the device to the flat surface. An airtight vacuum seal on the bottom of the device prevents air from entering or escaping the low-pressure region that has been created. A configurable actuator mounted within the device may regulate airflow to and from this low-pressure region. The fans or pump used to create the airtight seal may also be used for thermal management of internal device components.
